About Me
CURRENT MISSION
training for my next carnival costume: Son Goku!
ABOUT ME
okay, first, i don't like self-descriptions. not because i have to think about myself, but because i don't think i can really take into words what makes a person a person.
but well, just for you, let's try!
i am friendly. i have lots of ideas running through my head, most of the time when i have nothing around to write it down. i started to write about five stories now, none of them to come far across twenty pages, but that doesn't matter for me. i'm an idealist, i'm someone who builds his own opinion on things in his mind, but does not often speak about it in public.
i like people, but i can't have them around me 24 hours a day - that makes me go quiet and puts me in a bad mood. give me my earphones and 15 minutes of freedom and i'm back in the game!
i'm usually easy-going, thoughtful on other people's moods and opinions and i love to feel that they appreciate that. friends can reach me whenever they want or need to, i'm a good listener (generally i give out advices that no one follows, but well, i'm the same in return) and i have A LOT of fun playing fifa an unfair way (i foul a lot, so half of my games are aborted at halftime because i don't have enough players on the field left; but i can laugh my ass off for that :D).
i love to be outside, in the sun, on the grass, reading a book or listening to music. and i love to be with persons that i don't understand (not by language, but e.g. their behavior and actions), just because i am so curious to learn from them what made them themselves.
PHILOSOPHY
keep being positive. it will give you some cushion when it comes to the worst.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
started because a friend and me needed some space in paris. thought this was a good concept and stayed.
did only make really good experiences with couchsurfing guys and girls. hope i'll be able to be a host as good as martin.
i have a flat on my own now with plenty of space to give a couchsurfer or two some rest. i live in Riehl, that is in the north of cologne, close to the zoo. it is about 15 minutes by tram to the city centre and 5 for the main train station.
i usually work yet long, so i won't be able to show people around through the week, but on the weekend there might be time!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
01 - Paris, Ile-de-France, France // July, 2010 // Coralie: I visited her for two days with a good friend of mine and we stayed in her very small living room. but it was fun, she even took us with her to a party she went to with her friends. met her again some time later when i was living in Paris for my semester abroad.
02 - Long Beach, California, United States // August, 2013 // Martin: we stayed at Martin's place for two nights and we had a really good time there. He was totally kind and helpful and barbecued the best ribs i ever have eaten. he even introduced us to friends of his, where we stayed later on, too.
Interests
music. meeting people, hearing them speak in languages i don't understand.
movies. (except for horror) i like movies that make you think in the end. i love series, have seen several. i love how in a series there is enough room for big, interesting, changing, hiding, diversifying and sometimes surprising plots and developments - something that can't be filled into the best three-hour movie.
books. different kinds of books. i have read anime once (okay, just one); i like books from older German eras, i like fantasy, but more than stories about elves and dwarfes i love fantasy embedded into the real world, which could actually happen, hiding behind the face of every day life.
sports. i play golf (randomly, which means i am way ahead of being good at it!), sometimes football, but going to the gym at least twice a week. jogging, swimming whenever there's time. i can juggle (at least a bit).
food. i am trying to be part-time vegan. high carb low fat it is. working out sometimes, sometimes not. i like testing new recipes and making my own sushi (and until now, i didn't have to throw anything away). but I still can't get away from these damn steaks.
