About Me

I was born in the Polar Bear Capitol of the World, and now I live in Sombah K'e, Denendeh (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories). I used to have a substantive couchsurfing profile but can't get into my old e-mail account so I'm starting anew.

I used to travel a lot and loved it, but now I'm content at home and don't venture too far south much anymore unless a friend is getting married or something like that.

I love being out on the land, paddling, hiking, hunting, fishing, harvesting stuff, or whatever. This is what I like to do at home and when traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's the best way to travel. You get to know people. I made many friends this way.

I couchsurfed only a few times actually: Chicago, Seattle, Winnipeg. Only 2 people ever couchsurfed at my place: Adam from Chicago and Chris from Austria.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Fave movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Fave book: Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, and Godless but Loyal to Heaven by Richard Van Camp
Fave music: eclectic and random, everything from old school country to classical to electric pow wow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on my first successful hunting trip last fall and learned to skin and quarter a moose.

Watched chunks of ice fall from the Moreno Glacier in Patagonia for a day. That was epic.

Went on 3-day kayak journey through the Amazon. Epic.

I'm easily amazed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking with people, especially when I'm in travel mode. I'm not that good at it, but I'm fun in the kitchen.

I'm generally pretty critical and openly share my views, but I can chill out too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm fun, friendly, amenable to adventure, and respectful. What more could you want?
