About Me
CURRENT MISSION
see and learn about as much of the world as possible
ABOUT ME
I'm Amanda, 22 years old and originally from the USA. I'm currently getting my Masters in Global Health at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. I'm specifically interested in human rights, women's health, and health care of refugees.
I love traveling and meeting new people. I'll pretty much try anything once and I'm always up for an adventure. I'm really easy going and I love to party!
PHILOSOPHY
Right now, I want to see and experience as much of the world as I possibly can. But long term, I would like to work in global health care, particularly working in women's health in rural communities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a night couchsurfing in Calcutta and a week in Belgium, and I loved the experience. Now that I have an apartment in Maastricht, I'd like to host other people that want to see a side of the Netherlands apart from Amsterdam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
elephant safari and bathing in Chitwan National Park; studied Hinduism with the revered Professor Das at the Jiva Institute in Vrindavan; lived and worked in a rural community in Eastern Uganda; swam with wild dolphins in Kaikoura, New Zealand
I'm sorry I couldn't pick just one! I've been very privileged to see some amazing things in my lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I used to sing while I was younger everything from acoustic sets to show tunes, so I'm always in for a good jam session.
My first solo backpacking trip was through India, so I can definitely shed some light for women that are looking to travel on their own through the subcontinent. It's not as difficult as you might think! And I've done the USA road trip from New York to California several times along different routes, so I can help out with anyone planning on making the drive.
