My name is Mandi and I'm 24 years old. I work, live in and breathe Texas, but I'm OBSESSED with traveling. I'm still enrolled in school, so I currently only get to on rare occasions. When I do get the opportunity I love meeting the locals as well as doing the lame tourist things (It's a must lol). Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard nothing but the most amazing things about the experience with this site. I think it's the best way to get to enjoy the full joy of any place you visit. Who knows the place you're visiting better than the people who live there?

Interests

I'm really into outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking (although I'm not very good!), things of that "nature". I'm also big into movies and television. I went to film school for a little bit, so I have to keep up with as much as I can! I also volunteer a lot in Houston, so on extended stays in a certain place I'd love to look into some kind of project in the area.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to almost any music except rap. It never stuck with me,
Movies: I love, love, love comedies. Stupid humor gets me. B movies are a must. Basically I'll watch anything.
Books: I really enjoy Neil Gaimen and other books about mythology or fantasy. I'm also a super girl when it comes to romance novels (I'll never understand why I can't get away from them!)
I also really enjoy reading books for research purposes. I read a lot of books on religion, teaching, just theories in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm... One of my favorite experiences was when my dad and I went skydiving. It was so beautiful and surreal. I highly recommend it to anyone who really wants to and hasn't. And to anyone who thinks they shouldn't, you should. I will definitely be going again!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a very upbeat personality and love to have fun! I'm very respectful and will always offer to help with anything you need around the house (within reason of course). I just want to meet some great people and share our love of traveling together!
