ABOUT ME
I love reading, art and nature, I think they feed the soul. I enjoy growing and foraging for food and identifying wild flowers and discovering other ways to interact with nature. I strive to live simply and do things that are enriching like gardening, cooking, and making things by hand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had noting but positive couch surfing experiences surfing and hosting several times. I've had some very gracious and trusting hosts all over the world. And I enjoy hosting as much as I love traveling because it makes me look at my own town with a new excitement. One of my favorite couch surfing experiences was when a couchsurfer made me and my roommates crepes with dandelions greens. It was lovely. Another guy taught me how to play musical saw which I would say I can play quite well these days. Also shared many laughs.
Interests
I enjoy cooking especially with homegrown veggies, gardening, folk dancing, art, hiking, botany, wild edibles, fermenting things, plant fibers, discussing gender, feminist, and environmental poliics etc

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading, some of my favorite writers are Wendell Berry and Jim Harrison.
Music- I like most genres, my favorite musician right now is Gillian Welch, I love folk and bluegrass I can dance to.
Movies- I really don't watch movies that often anymore, if I do they are usually independent/low budget films.

Teach, Learn, Share
I would say I am quite knowledgeable with Midwestern wild plants, I can teach you about wild edibles and medicines and other plant uses. I know some basic mycology and a little bit about lichens too.
I also know some stuff about organic farming including some knowledge about permaculture.
Other things I can teach you:
Basic hand sewing, basic crocheting, ginger ale, how to cook vegan style, make saurkraut, Kombucha, wine, pickles, composting, Worm composting, how to play musical saw, basics of harvesting and hand spinning plant based fibers, basic natural dyes.
I would love to learn: more about crocheting, how to knit, how to set up a sewing machine, how to make beer, how to can food (better), how to spin fibers on a wheel, how to use a drop spindle, more about plant based dyes and fibers, how to blow glass, throw on a wheel, more about paper making, more about plants etc.
