CURRENT MISSION
Solo road trip, campfire fiddling, book reading adventures!
ABOUT ME
I am a enthusiastic (for real, not the type you put on a resume) person who loves many things and seeing new places down remote roads. I have traveled some, and look forward to doing so again. Right now I am developing my own definition of community and work balance.
I went traveling in Europe from 2008-09 and although I love living in Yellowknife, I'm trying to figure out what is next in my life.
PHILOSOPHY
To use our gifts, skills and talents in the ways that I can to share with others. To be aware of my limits and respect them, while working to expand them.
This year of traveling has taught me that I am more like myself than I thought I was. I´m working to honour that yet still push my boundaries.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During my travels couchsurfing was a way to meet interesting people, and always find more similarities than differences
Everytime I go to a meet up, or host my own, I know that good conversation with open minded people will happen, and that is what keeps me coming back.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing gave me the best New Year's I could have ever imagined. Instead of heading to a European city on my own, not knowing what to expect. I met like-minded people at a small Swiss train station, to train, drive, and snowshoe up a mountain to a chalet. There we talked, drank wine, fondued, and then jumped into the snow! We slept on long bunkbeds and woke up to a clear blue sky over the Swiss alps. It was a treasured snapshot in time.
Interests
Being outdoors in all capacities, talking over cups of coffee, tea or wine. Playing, singing, and living with enthusiasm. Traveling by train!
I truly enjoy traveling to out-of-the-way places that others never get to. There is the joy of taking a road no once else chooses, to seeing what is there, to relishing in the simple beauty of all places.
