ABOUT ME

I am studying Health and Wellness, the History of Medicine, Art, and Public Health at the University of Minnesota.

I am adventurous. I love trying new things. I have traveled through the majority of the United States and have lived in half a dozen or so states. I love to travel. Every year I lead a couple of volunteer trips at both the high school and college levels where we travel across the U.S. working with all sorts of organizations and projects.

I love my bike.

I am fascinated by nutrition, the politics around food (marketing, GMOs, the diet industry, etc.) and I love exploring the foods that are available. Thus, I LOVE COOKING, eating out at new restaurants, and trying new things.

I love to play soccer, softball, hockey, and ultimate. I enjoy watching football and fútbol, and I like going to baseball games.

I am a family gal, through and through. I have three younger siblings that mean the world to me, and my mom and my aunt are two of my best friends.

Cultural studies rock my world. I like to read, get lost on long car trips, and rock climb. I am a big movie buff, and a decade later I still love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I also enjoy House, Bones, Law and Order: SVU and a couple of others. I don't have a lot of time for TV but it is nice once in a while.

I love meeting new people. I have always been my mom's social butterfly.

I run a non-profit organization through the U of MN. I am in a spoken word group and I am learning how to play guitar. If you haven't noticed... I am relatively random and scattered but in a fun way, I would like to think =D

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life based off of my intuition. I am very motivated and driven. I live each day like it is today, and not tomorrow or yesterday. I remember my past, I think about my future, but I live and thrive within the present. I like it that way. I like to surround myself with people who are continually exploring themselves and the world, along with those who support my desires to do so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed before for Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL with a few friends. It was an AMAZING experience. I have met a lot of CSers in various countries and I am excited to continually be involved!

This is a good conversation starter with me. I am so sporadic, but just know that I like a LOT of each category.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amsterdam. Berlin. Tokyo. Mt. Fuji. Sansouci. The Red Light District. Salvador Dali Museum. Anne Frank House. The Grand Canyon. Volunteering across the country. Tokyo form the Tokyo Tower. Minneapolis... my day to day life is pretty exciting. Lollapalooza for 4 years. SO MANY SHOWS. RENT at the Ordway. Lion King at the Orpheum. Berlin Opera: La Bohemme. Dolphins jumping 1/2 a block from my house in the morning in Mississippi. Sachsenhausen. The strip in Las Vegas at night. I have watched three amazing kids grow up. Sisterly love<3 Climbed around Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire. Been through a hurricane, a tornado, an earth quake and some intense dust storms. Made friends. Fallen in love. Discovered that I want to go to medical school. White Water Rafted (Grade 5 rapids). Learned how to Salsa.
