About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"No man really knows about human beings. The best they can do is suppose that they are like himself." -Steinbeck.
ABOUT ME
I am new to the world of teaching, consistent paychecks, and summers off. I plan to take complete advantage of the latter two and spend my summers becoming acquainted with other countries, cultures, and people in the hopes to better myself as a person and as a teacher. I have been said to have a quick wit, which is only gaining in power with 120 equally as witty teenagers seated before me on a daily basis. I love interacting with and learning about people and what makes them tick. There's nothing that I enjoy more than enjoying a chilled beverage in good company.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that we are all interconnected in this world and that the only way we can survive is by helping others and being helped. There will come a time in everyone's lives that they will have the opportunity for both, and I hope that they are able to take it. My family is a gift, and my friends have become family. I whole-heartedly believe in the ability for people to do the right thing; this brings about disappointment at times, but the actions of others cannot destroy my attitude. Charles Swindoll puts it best: "I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted a few couch surfers. Each has been an interesting and great experience. I also surfed while I was in Ireland, which was an equally as positive experience. I am unable to host couchsurfers at this time, but I am not opposed to meeting up for coffee, lunch, or drinks, depending on the day and my work schedule.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am one to crash on couches if I've had too much to drink or just feel like taking a nap. So I figure, why not do so in other countries? I have also had many couch dwellers in my day: friends are always welcome on my couch, floor, or stoop, whichever they prefer.
Interests
Reading, teaching, road trips, swimming, volleyball, sitting at the river, wake boarding, off-roading, napping, taking bubble baths, cooking, family and friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know that anything I have done thus far can be considered "amazing." Hopefully my travels will remedy that.
Seen: desert sunset from the Colorado River, Grand Canyon, Mount Charleston, Red Rock, numerous California beaches and sunsets - drove the coast from Long Beach to San Francisco, Montana and Oregon beauty, Cliffs of Moher and gorgeous Irish countryside...
Teach, Learn, Share
Potatoes were thought to help sailors (and I'm sure pirates) from getting scurvy.
That's all I have right now, haha...more coming soon?
Countries I’ve Visited
Ireland, New Zealand
