I grew up in Melbourne Australia but I also have a Sri Lankan background. I am a qualified accountant by trade and I enjoy meeting new people, travelling, films and cinema, music, books, nature and hiking, history, cycling, scuba diving, alcohol and good food.

I enjoy discussing any topic and I am keen to learn about people and their cultures.

I've been told that I'm fun, friendly, intelligent, clean and tidy and quite a character :)

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to host anyone as I'm flat sharing.

But I'm more than happy to hangout with anyone visiting Melbourne who would like a local's view of the city :).

I'm not on this site for just free accomodation. I've found that when travelling the best way to enjoy and really absorb a city is to spend it with a local. I'm looking to make friendships and get to know people who live in the city.

I'm also interested in meeting fellow backpackers in my home city and showing them around Melbourne :).

Music:
Radiohead, Beach House, David Bowie, The Cure, Tame Impala, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Rolling Stones, The National, T.Rex, Arcade Fire, Chromatics - so many to list but my tastes are mainly alternative and classic rock and 80s :)

Movies:
I'm a huge cinephile so I enjoy any good film that is arthouse, drama, thriller and foreign cinema is great (which I believe helped me develop my love of travel).
The last few movies I watched was an Australian film called lion and a 60s esq film called the love witch

Books:
The Bell Jar, 1984, Brave New World, Catcher in the Rye, Norwegian Wood, Crime and Punishment, The Outsider, Metamorphisis, Fight Club, Lord of the Rings Series, The Harry Potter collection...I just love books :)

Probably getting my scuba diving license as I'm not a strong swimmer and had a fear of open water for a long time.

And also solo backing around Asia for 9 months.
