About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making it worth it.

ABOUT ME

Heia!

My name is Kristin, or even Krishna if you're fond of nicknames. I come from the northernmost university town in the whole wide world, but since summer 2011, I've been living in old, new and beautiful Trondheim. Currently filling my time with warm-hearted people, my dog, my creativity, my fascination for pretty much anything and a job I happen to love.

The best things I know are taking loooong walks, reading enjooooyable books -- and singing and playing. I'm not a guitar-player, nor a good cook, dancer or knitter, but I keep the dreams alive. My favorite way to understand the world, is directly through the people I meet. I love languages, and will probably annoy you either by articulating a nonsense phrase in your first language, or asking and asking you until you teach me one.

...but I think you will like my labrador. And maybe my fish balls in curry sauce.

I was born with an eye defect that makes me practically blind. That's a situation I have dealt with since forever, and living independently and smashing my own limits are important things to me -- just like it is to most people. If you have a lot of questions about my strategies of doing this, I'll happily answer them. But my blindness is more a sidekick than my favorite hobby -- so I'd be happy if you didn't talk about it as my dearest and only interest in life!

PHILOSOPHY

Sing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met a couple of fantastic people and later found out they were couch surfers - suddenly getting a lot more to talk about! - but other than that, my CouchSurfer history is yet to be written! I feel very secure that one day I'll be able to thank this community for a several of the things I can enjoy, tell stories about and/or understand.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Several overwhelming stories from people I met, and still few but precious and spontaneous moments of hot chocolate and northern lights fascination with people passing by.

Interests

Taking time, doing music-related things, a-ha experiences, people, languages, books, persons who (preferably intentionally) hit my surreal sense of humor, drama and theatre, pondering on how it would feel to be skilled in dancing, knitting or cooking..., hiking, spending time with persons who live significantly different lives than I do, creative writing, voluntary work and so forth and so on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the movie called La vita è Bella, and I could watch it over and over again. There are a couple of other favs too -- but we'll maybe discover that you are supreme to me when it comes to movie fun facts. I could put the blame on my eye defect, but probably it's just my outdated personality...

I have a pretty diverse taste in music. If I were born at the same time as my Mom (which, despite all, I'm glad I wasn't(;), I could've been a lot more openly thrilled about music. My hero and to-be husband one day in the afterlife is the vocal dude in Queen. And I'm a Billy Joel music expert (at least maybe a little more so than you?). The lounge-ish feel of my Swedish favorite artists and all the meaningfulness I can find in my Norwegian favorite music.

I can never ever ever get enough music in my ears and brain and heart. I would love you to show me - or play me!! - all the melodies you want.

The best books I have ever read; The Neverending Story, The Book Thief, Shantaram, A Fine Balance, Good Night Mr. Tom. Here does count the ame rule as for the music. Share your favorite book experiences!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made tactile cartoons in Vilanova y la Geltru,
Heard Bryan May play and Nelson Mandela speak among inflated condoms in the midnight sun in Tromsø,
Enjoyed artistic performance from persons who don't communicate with words or body language.

Teach, Learn, Share

Languages, music, silly common knowledge that nobody would think of knowing, about places, books, people and happenings. No, I can´t limit it. Potentially EVERYTHING.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, China, Denmark, England, Finland, India, Malta, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Norway
