About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm outgoing, open-minded, adventurous, talkative(sometimes too talkative- people have sometimes complained about me talking too fast but it's only because I have so much to say and so little time to say it in :) ) and that brings me to my philosophy that life is short so enjoy it while you can :D. I'm sociable, love just having fun and doing new things, having fresh experiences in untrodden lands, meeting new people and just living life to the best of my ability.

PHILOSOPHY

It may be cliched but I really do believe that life is short so you must take advantage of every opportunity you get and have fun all the time- there is no time to waste on over-thinking- just do!

Interests

I obviously really enjoy travelling.
Also, I love food- trying all different types from everywhere in the world. You can tell a lot about a culture and a people by their food customs. I actually used to be a pretty strict vegetarian until I realized how much I was missing out on by not eating meat. Also, the preparation of food seems to be a labour of love universally and so by eating and cooking with/for others, you really enhance relationships with them....I've also studied quite a lot of food anthropology so you could say it's a bit of an obsession of mine :P
I also spend my spare time doing Indian Classical dance, which has been one of my passions since I was a child, and yoga and meditation which I started about 3 years ago and immediately fell in love with.
I just really enjoy being sociable- going out, making friends, having fun.
I've definitely been bitten by the travel bug so more of that is definitely in store! My idea of an ideal evening on holiday would be sitting back with company in the warm evening, opening some wine, sticking some tunes on and just chatting/dancing/telling stories till the early hours :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of Eddie Murphy (the good years pre-Dr Doolitle) so I love films like Trading Places and Coming to America. My other favourite films are Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Up and Wall-e.
Music-wise, I'm well into my Stevie Wonder and apart from that, I have pretty eclectic taste. I emphatically do not like Justin Bieber though (but I am still happy to hang out with Beliebers even if I will never understand them ;))
I have a pretty broad taste in books as well- from Dickens to Du Maurier, Simone De Beauvoir, Roald Dahl. I am always open to trying any new recommendations on books, films and music though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Riding a camel through the dessert in Dubai
-Sitting with my family on a completely deserted, beautiful, clean and huge beach in Tamil Nadu (South India) and watching the solar eclipse of 1998
-Hitch-hiking through Scotland to a hippy solstice festival
-Going to a highly entertaining and enjoyable hippy solstice festival in which naked dancing and prancing featured heavily...then returning the next year for a repeat.
