About Me

Hi to all the fellow couch surfers out there! I'm Manja, 26 years old and I'm currently in Australia living a new adventure. Here's my STORY: After studying advertisement psychology I decided to work on a social business project in Hamburg (Germany) while working in marketing part time. Because my boyfriend Kevin (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/kblumenstock) and I love to travel and don't really know where we want to live and work for a longer time right now, we decided to sell all our belongings (I own exactly 3 boxes now) pack our backpack and just see where it takes us. I'm, if you like, a "multipotentialite" which pretty much means I can be inspired to learn and get into all kinds of things. But instead of seeing this as a bad thing I want to live out all of my interests. I studied marketing psychology, which I found to be extremely interesting. I also sang for a while and did musicals in Germany and the United States. I love working with people, animals and nature. I care about the environment and do my best everyday to live my life accordingly. I am open to try whatever comes my way. I have always loved to travel the world, meet new people and get to know the real culture of the countries I visit. I am looking to meet open-minded people with a positive attitude towards life who like to just have fun and be silly and laugh together but also like to have deep talks about pretty much anything and just be inspired by their thoughts, experiences and lifestyle. I love the outdoors and I am a great nature fan. I also enjoy cooking and doing anything that involves food because I am a big foodie :) Besides that I love to sing on any occasion (bonfires, events, etc.) I like to try out new things and just enjoy life with great people by my side :) I'm easy going but also respect the privacy and belongings of other people and will always clean up after myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

INSPIRE AND BE INSPIRED

I actually created a profile some years back but never actually tried out this service. Since I'm going to travel the world for a while with my boyfriend Kevin, I think couchsurfing will be a great way to combine some of the things we love and are looking for:
meet new people with a similar mindset, make great friends, have a local experience in the countries we visit and most importantly for us being inspired in any way by the people that we cross paths with.
And hopefully we can host some people of our own at some point in the future.

Interests

I am really up for anything. I love to sing, my boyfriend is just learning to play the guitar, so hopefully we will be a good team for future bonfires :) Also we enjoy cooking together with friends and being outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all types of music. I don't care too much for folks music, metal or hard rock. Movies: comedy, romance, drama and documentaries on wildlife, nature, politics, economics or history. Same goes for books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've done was canyoning in Mexico with friends, jumping down waterfalls (some up to 10m) and swimming through caves.
Another great thing I was a part of was playing the lead role in an american play and singing in different musicals whilst spending half a year as an exchange student in California.
A recent very special moment happened to me in Cambodia where I met a monk who invited me to his monastery.
Lastly I would mention volunteering in Bali, teaching kids English.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer an open mind and a very positive attitude. I can make you laugh and tell some good stories :) Also I can teach you German or English if you like.
