ABOUT ME

I recently completed an M.A. in German Studies, focusing on German philosophy and drama. Right now, I'm working at a hotel in West Knoxville as a desk clerk. The job pays poorly, but it also allows me a lot of free time, during which I can do practically whatever I wish. I am trying to find translation work (German --> English) and any other steady work in German or research. I love to travel, and I hope that it is something that I will be able and willing to do every year that I'm alive.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know exactly what a personal philosophy would constitute, but I do have goals that I set for myself and I will list those here: 1.) to always question my understanding of things and seek for a better understanding, 2.) to strive to better myself morally and intellectually, 3.) to treat others with respect. 4.) Maybe one day I will understand what is meant by treating others with love, and I will then be able to do so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've only couchsurfed and never hosted. I doubt that many couchsurfers make their way through the Knoxville area. But I love couchsurfing and I've had a lot of good couchsurfing experiences. And I have found that, in general, those trips that have included a couchsurfing experience have been far superior to those with hotel stays.
