I am Man Kuan (you can call me MK). I grew up in Macau and have lived in Michigan for 8 years now.

I am very curious and LOVE genuine, open-minded conversations about everything and anything.

I love painting and bringing my camera around and like to use my lens to capture the universal thread of trust in humanity in this increasingly cynical world. That being said, I love meeting local people to have an insider's vision of the place and culture when I travel.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am not the sightseeing kind of traveler and would love to get to know the local culture on a personal level. So I believe couchsurfing is one of the best ways to go!

There are too many for me to pick a favorite, but I LOVE ALL SUSPENSE AND THRILLERS. I'd say one of my favorites is Blank Swan because I am a big fan of Natalie Portman...(no shame haha).

So for books, as I am getting old, I have transitioned my tastes from fiction to non-fiction in recent years and one that I really liked from my recent reads is "The Civil Case". It is based on a real lawsuit about people vs. big corporations, I liked it not because I am an angsty kid (which I still am sometimes...), but because it is written in a thriller style (of course) that gives you chills about unjust, life, and fate.

Traveling to India with NO PLAN, shaved my hair to pretend as a guy, and got my laptop stolen. BUT I MET SOME OF THE GREATEST FRIENDS OF A LIFETIME DURING MY TIME THERE, I WOULD GO BACK IN A HEARTBEAT.

Again, I don't know how much I can offer but I will share whatever I can with you! I'd say I'm pretty good at drawing/painting/photography but I don't know how much I can teach you those within such a short visit...haha. And I speak fluent English and Chinese if that helps...

I'll be honest and tell you that I cannot cook, like I can be your minion if we were to have a home meal together, but you gotta be the commander in chief. And I have no problem doing dishes :).

If you want to meet someone who listens and goofs around, I'll be the ONE.
