Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the second time in my life, I've stripped myself of nearly all my worldly possessions, so that I can explore new parts of the world and have new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll read, listen to, and absorb into my life anything by Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, and Edward deBono;

I think my favourite books were The Alchemist, As a Man Thinketh, and Man's Search for Meaning, A Course In Miracles, and others in that vein.

Favourite comedians: Brian Regan, Bill Burr, Seinfeld;

After completely avoiding TV for years, I've fallen in love with binge-watching Game of Thrones, Marco Polo, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Suits, Flight of the Conchords, Arrested Development;

My all-time favourite movie is The Fifth Element (probably because I too am looking for the "perfect being" to be my mate) and because that part at the beginning when the spaceship crosses from left to right of the screen is the only time ever that I knew the rear speakers in my old surround sound system actually did anything; and probably the most incredible wordless movie ever: Samsara. Seriously, check that one out. It's not a movie, it's an experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Between the ages of 21 to 33, I was what I'd call a "statistically successful" actor. (I used to book one out of every three auditions in film and TV, and voiceover rolls). I was the voice of The New Blue American Express Card, Mr. Lube, UPS, KFC, and others. :)

Probably my most notorious part was a scene I did with Mariah Carey in her movie called "glitter". :P

I'm really curious to learn from you what you've learned hosting travellers in your home. How has this affected/expanded your world-view? What's possible now that wasn't even conceivable before? What's your life like where you live?...

I'm happy to share my perspectives, knowledge and experience building a business from $0 to over a billion in 10 years... and then losing it all after the credit crisis; marketing and advertising, hiring, and growing myself to keep pace with the requirements of the organization as it grew.
