About Me

Hi and welcome on our profile ! :)

OUR STORY
Manon is from Grenoble (south-east of France, next to the Alps mountains), from the countryside. She studied wine management in Burgundy . Before that, I studied and worked in the hospitality and gastronomic industry. So she's (obviously) a wine and food lover ;)
Alessandro is from Turin (north west of Italy), from the countryside. He studied viticulture and agronomy but also got a bachelor in Electronic. He's very passionate about regenerative agriculture and wellbeing of animals and plants.
Because we were born in the middle of mountains we love all what is mountain related : Skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, trail running, camping or just contemplating the majestic beauty and power of mountains.
Finally, we spent the five past years travelling and working in NZ and OZ... and it was awesome.
We're also very interested in women condition/feminism. So keep calm, if this word make your hair stand on end, it's okay, you can ignore our request or we will just avoid the subject ;)

OUR PERSONALITY
We're easy going and adaptable people who loves learning and discovering new places, new cultures and new ways of proceeding. Human relationships are very important to us and we love meeting people who share our values: kindness, sincerity, humility, respect for others and for the environment and reconsideration of preconceived ideas or way of doing.

CURRENT PROJECT
Discover central and south America

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're here because we truly believe that it is easier to find kind and warm people in those communities. Sharing about our differences in education, cultures and way of living creates awareness and open-mindness

Another reason is the meeting itself and the memory it will let: This is one of our life objective!

Music, Movies, and Books

can listen and like every types of music Preferred styles : rock (ex Beatles), reggae, soul-jazz-blues (ex Nina Simone) , music with latin/spanish influence (ex manu chao), electro (ex Synapson), Gypsy/balkan music (don't know why but I love those rapid rythms! Ex Opa Tsupa).

Manon is not cinephile at all... (90minutes format is already too long for her ;), Alessandro does love movies tho

We love listening podcasts, watching documentaries, Ted talks, reading or listening books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- 2 weeks humanitarian mission in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), in a very small association (DBK Art) tempting to help and re-dynamise a poor neighboorhood in PP, including a 'school' for children (one class, from 6 to 16 years old!) : Manon was helping the teacher to manage the class and in charge of a fundraising to buy school basic furnitures. It was a very strong experience on the personal level.

- Mountain trekking for 4 days in North Vietnam with a wonderful women guide, feeling the time getting distorsed ... having the feeling of living something unique, between rice terraces and villages... wonderful !!

- In NZ : Going to the volcano White Island, experiencing naturism, discovering a new passion for salsa, modelling for life drawing sessions, seeing kiwis birds on Stewart island, meditating for 10h in a day, Paragliding in Queenstown, discovering a old intentional community (Tui) and spending few days with them.

................... And a lots of things yet to be lived during the next years :)
