About Me
Hi
I am Manon and I am French. I work as an export manager for some wineries. 2 passions in one job: Travelling + Wine = Conviviality!
I have lived 1,5 year abroad (South Africa, HK and Argentina) and I am based near Bordeaux (but I am never there because I travel a lot with my job).
I am also a sport/fitness lover but I love the food too, and especially discovering the food specialities of each place I visit.
I love discovering the different cultures, and live traditional experiences with local people.
Cheers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I decided to join Couchsurfing because it's the best way to share true experiences and culture.
Obviously when I travel I visit touristic places, but regarding food or way of life, I definitely look for true and traditional stuff.
I am curious, and really open-minded. I travel to discover the other cultures, and unfortunately when you stay in a hotel or even when you buy a travel book, you can't share those kind of experiences I look for. But with local people yes !
Interests
I wake up early in the morning to work out, I really need it ! Even when I travel I always practise sport: hiking, running... and I always travel with my elastic bands and TRX (suspension training).
I love discovering food specialities, but I eat healthy. It's really important for me.
Then I have studying the wine business, and now I work for a wine chateau as an export manager.
Actually it is my dream job: I travel, I meet people from everywhere, I work in a conviviality atmosphere, sharing the wine I work for... What else?
- wine
- fitness
- traveling
- health and fitness
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie: The Green Line. But I like watching: The Help, The Age of Adaline, My Name is Khan, Invictus...
Ma favorite Writer: Lauren Weisberger
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thailand: living away from tourists, with a thai family, Wake up at 4am every morning to cook the offerings and bring them to the temple to give them to the monk. After the prayer, we took back to rest of the food with the villagers and share all of it all together. Amazing experience, with yummy traditional food.
Bali: On a no touristic beach I met a local, a fisherman who invited me to cook for me his fresh fish. I went to his family and shared an amazing experience with his kids and his wife! He didn't do it for money, he didn't ask me anything, so it was a real true experience. One of my best souvenir.
Much more to tell.... In South Africa, Argentina...
