About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make A Difference. Create Life And Surround Yourself With It.

ABOUT ME

I am a woman living in the land of misfit toys.

PHILOSOPHY

If you aren't happy, do something else. Don't complain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I share my rancho with couch surfers, and in the process, share my small piece of the world, exchange ideas, and promote peace, love and happiness. Not a bad way to live, now is it?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To date, I have only hosted couch surfers and loved the experience. I hope someday to travel again, and see how others have created their own view of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book - so appropriate at this juncture in time: Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged"

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe our life is a reflection of our choices.

For this part of my life, I am choosing to share my 2+ hectarias on the jungle-laden island of Loma Partida with couch surfers, and in the process, maybe I will learn about other people, their lives, and be a part of something larger, although I can't define what that is. I believe this place is the most tranquil and beautiful place I have lived. It is simply breath-taking to sit and gaze at the distant mountains across Laguna Chiriqui Grande and watch the dolphins pass, fish jump out of the water, or Indians passing by in wooden dug out canoes.
I am currently in the process of building a series of all natural thatched-roofed houses to offer as a retreat to women facing life-altering diseases - Cancer, HIV, HCV... Of course, infrastructure comes first, like clearing trails, planting gardens, water catchment system, and eventually solar panels :))))

As for myself, I went through a period of illness here, and found a healing of my spirit, as well as a sense of acceptance of myself which was lacking. I have since indulged myself in the joy of creating, albeit house design, landscaping, coconut art, or in simply "being"

In the process, I found that life is truly what we make out of it, and I want to share this - and maybe - just maybe, I can make a difference in someone's life. That would be so many shades cool!
