About Me

Hello! my name is jake. my wife, Bethany, and I are currently in the process of moving to Melbourne, KY which is about 15 minutes down the road from Bellevue. Until we can get everything moved over to the new place, we unfortunately will not be able to host anyone..

my favorite color is this blueish/ purple- white christmas light that they have all over Brussels during the holidays. i also really like the shiny, deep-red color of the old russell stover's valetines boxes.
anyway, i like going out, listening to music, meeting people etc.. I'm from Kentucky, and i used to be an assistant manager at a native plant nursery, and also a bartender. i'm also a CEO of an international record label.

PHILOSOPHY

-if it's good to you.. it's good for you.

-fuck it... let's go bowling.

-"i could be happy anywhere in the world as long as i have my ipod and a bottle of bourbon"

really though, i believe in faith in humanity. be open-minded, kind, and have respect for your fellow man and the earth.

Interests

MUSIC! but also... sandwiches, canoeing, silent discos, bourbon, christmas lights, frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee, mountain biking, throwing rocks off of cliffs, camp-out music festivals, new socks, the beach, campmor hot deals, skiing, beating the system, sleeping in, continental breakfasts, working outside, going on a bender in the end of december, fruit, granola, open bars, bullfights on acid, beatle bob, drunk cooking, the first warm day in spring and all of indian summer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-predicted a shooting star. (i have sober witnesses to verify this)

-on new years eve in amsterdam, i was having a cigarette outside of my hostel when this homeless guy came up to me, put 2 cheese sandwiches in my hand and said, "here, have a couple sandwiches. i already had 2, and i can't possibly eat anymore. i'm just going to throw them away if you don't want them." before i could tell him that i already ate, he walked off and mumbled something about getting free coffee and sandwiches at the salvation army up the street.
i didn't want to throw the sandwiches away, so i waited until i saw a "homeless-looking" person come by, and the i could give them to a good home.
minutes later, a guy came by.. but i couldn't quite tell if he was homeless, poor, or just really messed up. he slowly stumbled by me and saw my 2 sandwiches. a few seconds later, he turned around, walked up to me and pulled a plastic bag out of his coat. he said "put your sandwiches in this so they don't go bad"
i can't tell you how great it felt to be in a place where the homeless not only had an abundant supply of food, but could also help out the tourists with their food preserving techniques.
