Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
I want to understand humanity better through traveling and experiencing different cultures
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly guy who enjoys a variety of outdoor activities.
I grew up in Texas (yee haw, I can ride a horse too) and now that I live here in California I have learned to surf and use the word "dude" in most sentences. I think it is important to maintain stereotypes of the region you are living in haha.
Those who know me would describe me as a happy-go-lucky type of person. I don't take myself too seriously and it takes a lot to bring me down. I love a new adventure and am in the constant battle to work just enough hours to take off and go explore.
I like meeting new people who are open minded, not heavily opinionated, and enjoy the lives they lead. I am pretty outdoorsy and have been trying to experience as much of this area as I can and I love having CS guests along for the ride.
PHILOSOPHY
I love this quote by Ultra Runner Jenn in the book Born To Run: "I thought if you could run one hundred miles, you'd be in this Zen State. You'd be the fucking Buddha, bringing peace and a smile to the world. It didn't work in my case--I'm the same old punk-ass as before" I'm motivated by the same hope for internal peace that comes while being active.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to help make sure that visitors to San Diego get to see everything this great city has to offer. In a perfect world I would be able be on vacation with my guests the entire time, but unfortunately my boss demands my presence from time to time. If nothing else, I hope to provide a comfortable couch and directions to the best spots in the area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love CS! I did quite a bit of hosting in 2010 and surfed my first couple of couches as well. It's so much fun to meet new people and experience the cities they live in using their local knowledge.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I loved "Born to Run" such a motivating and exciting story. Otherwise I really like Bill Bryson and books about our existence and where the world is heading.
As for music, I like: The Avett Brothers, Josh Ritter, Yeasayer, Sean Hayes, Mason Jennings, Damien Rice, Beck, Citizen Cope, The Black Keys, the Strokes, Foo Fighters, Kid Cudi, Jack Johnson, Kings of Leon, Manu Chao, Metric, MGMT, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Phoenix, Pearl Jam, Q-tip, A Tribe Called Quest, Muse, Silversun Pickups and the White Rabbits.
Movies: the funny kind and docs. Not at all a fan of horror films.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I've swam from Catalina to mainland California (19.5 miles) ,I ran a marathon and completed a half ironman, hiked half dome, climbed ancient arts in Moab, UT, and had the best steak of my life in Argentina.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can explain what the different settings on your camera do and how to make better images.
I love teaching people to surf. It's a lot more difficult than it appears.
I can teach some good thai recipes as well or how to make my one of a kind Gulf inspired fish tacos. Paella if I really like you and am not really broke at the time.
