I am Manu, a guy born and grown in a little town called Zumaia, in the coast of the Basque Country (Spain).

I always like to leave my comfort zone. I want to travel and meet new cultures. I think it is so important to get a different prespective of life.

I've always loved to spend time with people, and to share thougts, experiences and moments with them. I like openminded people, who is willing to try new things.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to travel, as you stay with a person who is living in the city you want to visit. That makes you to get inside the city's atmosphere and culture, instead of doing the traditional sightseeing.

And of course, making new friends is always amazing. People and experiences are the best you get in life.

Intereses

I am passionate about sports, specially outdoor sports. The one I practice the most is road biking, but I am looking froward to get a mountain bike and star preparing some challenges. I also like basketball. Of course, I love to chill out with people, drinking a beer and talking about whatever.

I also love dogs. I have a dog called Lau, and he accompanies me to all the hikes I do in the surroundings of Zumaia.

Finally, I like playing the guitar and singing.

Música, películas y libros

Music is so important for me. I can spend an afternoon playing the guitar and singing. Those moments where I have been playing the guitar with friends, next to the fire in the beach, are one of the best memories I have.

When I want to relax, cook or just study, I listen to all type of slow music. For example, I love Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley.

If not, I usually listen to rock, punk, ska or heavy metal. Personally, I love Metallica and System of a Down.

I like to read books of all kind of topics: mountaineering books, politics, science, biographys...

Algo increíble que he hecho

I once did a part of "Camino the Santiago" in the north of Spain. It basically consists to follow a route with a big bagpack, and spending the nights in some places that are specifically prepared for this route, until you reach a city in Galicia called Santiago de Compostela. You meet a lot of people in the way, and you visit amazing places. In a future I would like to do it by bike.

I always like to learn new things and discuss about different point of views of the things. I think that we all have something to learn about each other.

If you are from another country, I will always want to learn about your language, culture, food etc. And, for sure, I will be glad to share my knowledge with you and I will try to teach you some basque or spanish, and all you want to learn about my culture.
