About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy every moment of my last weeks of travelling for now...It's so amazing

ABOUT ME

!@#$%^&*, what can I tell about myself?

There aren't big stories I can tell about my life until now, I'm only 21 one years old. I went to kindergarten, had a nice time, went to school, had a nice time as well, and then I decided to travel for one year to Australia with my best mate.
Finally, we ended up - against all plans - travelling to Australia, New Zealand and China (well, OK, there are a few stories I can tell).

Every chapter of my journey is filled with countless unique experiences. My life has suddenly been filled with a high density of experiences. This whole trip all in all shaped and reinforced a lot of opinions I shared about life. Some opinions has been dismissed, some survived until today.

And slowly, slowly I realise I'm uncouncisly developing my own subjective perception of what life is about and as well, should be about. This perception is based on my experiences I made during my one year overseas. And it's been just wonderful.

That's the reason I'm still having a seemingly endless hunger for making more experiences through meeting more open-minded people.

And guess which are the best ways to achieve this?

More Traveling, More Couchsurfing :)

Hum, I'm philosophying away :P

Anyway, Let's just talk, get to meet each other, have good time, share a beer or two, discuss things, listen to some good music. Let's go traveling, by bike, by car, by foot, with friends, without friends.

My name is Manuel, I'm from Germany and this is my journey. Hopefully, a couple of u guys will be part of it one day.

(UFF, that was pretty honest!)

PHILOSOPHY

The journey is the reward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved from my hometown to another place in East-Germany ten months ago. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to convince my other flatmates of the idea behind couchsurfing. But I'm doin my best, and it looks like we're going to open our apartment for some inspiring broad-minded travellers as soon as I come back from my summer travels and continue my studies!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My time in China and the CS experiences I associate with the country influenced my way of thinking and my perception.

Living with a family in the rural Village Yangshuo, sharing a drink with a father and his son in the french concession of Shanghai, or getting an insight in bejing's student-life through an awesome swedish guy studying abroad.

The most striking fact that I realised I haven't felt being treated as a usual tourist. My Couchsurf-Hosts treated me like guests, like friends. Since then I'm trying to travel only by using the CS-network and convince people of the idea behind Couchsurfing: It's not about taking countless, equal looking photos of all the tourist attractions or sleeping for weeks in bland hotel rooms.

There is so much more discover. Thanks to CS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A man giving an homeless and pourly looking guy a kiwi-flavoured chocolate bar on a street in Auckland - u can't describe his reaction. So surprised and grateful.

(it sounds romantic, I know, but I haven't forgot it until yet!)
