About Me

**** THIS PROFILE DESCRIPTION IS HEAVILY OUTDATED (I moved to Munich 5 years ago) ****
Still active from time to time though.

After I finally finished my PhD I spent the better part of the last year in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Now I’m back in Germany and recently moved to Munich. Can host only occasionally but I’m always happy to hang out in the evening for after work drinks 👍

I try to never loose my curiosity, open-minded, live my life in the way I want... nature, mankind, all that stuff impresses me. I like to go out, grab some beer and party with friends but I'm happy with relaxed evenings with nice people or a good book as well. I always like good conversations with new ideas, new opinions. Never stop developing.

'In an individual, selfishness uglifies the soul; for the human species, selfishness is extinction.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been quite active on Couchsurfing for many, many years now. I have tons of great experiences, for both surfing and hosting. Strangers from all over the world became friends, I have seen a few people a second (or third, fourth....) time and there are many people left, who I would love to see again. The website changed quite a lot in the last years, attracting too many people who cannot appreciate the whole idea, who see only the opportunity to save money or mistake CS for an online dating app, but fortunately there are still a lot of great people active with the true CS spirit in their souls. Thats why I'm still here and paying the membership.

Also I created recently a map with my suggestions of places where to go in Dortmund: https://goo.gl/g2hnWP

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to hold me back to not post a list with dozens of great experiences. But the maybe most amazing and unbeatable thing I did was painting some graffiti in an old warehous in New York with a bunch of really oldschool train writers of the city. The paintings have later been part of an exhibition.

I have other stories to share with you in personal with experiences from football traveling, accused of drug smuggling while border crossing, being on the other side of the planet suddenly without any money, all-nighter at Thailands beaches, hitch-hiking trips and so on.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to Dortmund, I can show you around, tell you something of the city, bring you to the good places, help you with satisfying your hunger, help you with getting drunk and help you with finding the way back home afterwards.
