About Me

A small French girl who likes Art, literature, learning stuff and meeting people. Oh, and travelling as well, I do enjoy foreign languages and a bit of travelling from time to time ;)

As I said, I am very small (some would even say "fun-size") and therefore don't need a lot of room to sleep somewhere...! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to meet new people, get to know them and share unique moments with them. Also a way to show how open-minded and generous ordinary people can be.
Plus the greatest way to travel and discover a place: from the inside out, with a local's point of view :)

I'm used to living with people from different countries by my past Erasmus experience in England (shared flat with 7 people, 6 British, 1 Italian), my Canadian experience (shared house with 10 other people from all over the world! which was such a wonderful part of my stay there!) and my year in Italy, where I shared a flat with two lovely Italian girls.

Interests

Reading, writing, listening to music, playing the guitar, singing, going to the cinema, doing some yoga, meditating, being a part of a theatre play, eating, taking pictures, drawing, cooking and/or baking (preferably vegan stuff but I'm not extreme about it, don't you worry ;) ), learning stuff (especially languages!) and probably loads of other stuff that I'm forgetting to talk about.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh dear, if I actually had to make an exhaustive list of everything I like everyone would die flooded by titles... But here's a start:

Music: mostly rock'n'roll because of its energy - Muse, Franz Ferdinand, OK Go, Absynthe Minded, Mystery Jets, Arctic Monkeys... But I'm open to every kind of music - including cheesy tunes cause they're so heartwarming.

Films: American Beauty and Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind are some of my favourites. I also love Chaplin's, Gus Van Sant's, Cedric Klapisch's films, and many others.

TV shows: The It Crowd, Black Books, Flight of the Conchords, Little Britain, F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Veronica Mars, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, Psych...

Books: I've read too many to say which ones are my favourites... But among the classics: Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Metamorphosis, Madame Bovary, The Great Gatsby... I like fantasy a lot and I really enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love as well (totally irrelevant compared to the others but true). I also love reading books about positive psychology or buddhist philosophy :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met beautiful people from around the world.

Erasmus at the University of Reading, United-Kingdom, the f*****g best decision I ever made!
French language assistant at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
HelpX on Vancouver Island.
French language assistant at the Liceo G. Cevolani di Cento.

Drank alcohol in a glass made of ice. Walked for about an hour by - 35°C. Saw some of my hairs freeze.

Rode a scooter on Vancouver Island - which WAS an epic experience for me - and actually got pulled over by a police officer because I was driving... too slowly.

Plus a zillion random things I can't think of right now. Not because I did lots of amazing stuff per se, but because any view can be amazing depending on how you're looking at it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm passionate about lots of stuff so if you ask me questions about things that I like (languages, travels, buddhism or literature), you'll probably need to stop me at some point.

I'm a vegetarian and would be delighted to cook a meal for you :)

Being a language teacher, I'd be happy to help you learning French, English or Italian if you're interested :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good talks and laughs, random stories, enthusiasm, kindness, food (did I mention anywhere that I liked baking, cooking and eating?)...
