About Me

I started travelling in my early 20s, when I started to work in the UK, made a bit of money and met people from all over Europe. When I settled back into my home country 6 years later and got a proper job, I really thought this travelling spree would come to an end. Well, obviously I was wrong...

As far as hosting is concerned, just know that my current house isn't strictly speaking small , but it stops being convenient once I get more than 2 guests at once. But up to 2 guests, you get a comfortable night in, decent food and wine, and hopefully a good time sharing about our lives, our travels and anecdotes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've met a lot of wonderful people in my life but I haven't met you yet, have I?
There you go, that's why I'm on Couchsurfing!

Interests

Music (mostly songs I can play on a guitar to a crowd of friends kind enough to put up with my singing, but just any kind, really), films, series, reading, languages, sports, travelling (of course). What kind of music? What kind of series? films? Hard to say. It just depends on my mood, really :)

Music, Movies, and Books

All right, then. If you insist, I'll be more specific.
Here are a few artists I saw 'live' in the past 10 years or so : Blur, Counting Crows, Roberto Fonseca, Marcus Miller, Tom McRae, Radiohead, Nada Surf, Amos Lee, Norah Jones, Bellowhead, Damon Albarn, Manic Street Preachers, Vieux Farka Touré.
And here are a few books I've enjoyed lately : The Bridge Over the Drina (Ivo Andric): a masterpiece ; The Kite Runner (by Khaled Hosseini) ; The Road to Nab End (by William Woodruff). Favourite authors? Ivo Andric, Albert Camus, Irvine Welsh, Mathias Enard, George Orwell, William Shakespeare... Again, depends on my mood :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving the chief of the Romanian border police a lift from the Serbian frontier all the way to Timisoara, an unexpected request as my friend and I were crossing the border in a Serbian rental car. That was part of a 60-hour / 4-country improvised trip. I'm more comfortable telling that story than writing about it. So you'll have to ask me about it. Worth a listen.

Teach, Learn, Share

To make a long story short, I'm obviously in for all 3!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, memories of my travels, fun times, my rudimentary cooking skills (my favourite local restaurants, if needed).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
