About Me

Welcome Couchsurfing User at My Profile,

It seems that you would like to get some more information about me and my life. So, I could do my best to explain both in the following:

My name is Manuel Hipp, and I lived 29 years in the beautiful Black Forest in the south of Germany. I was working the last 7 years as an international project manager in the machining industry. During my work, I got more and more in contact with different kinds of people all over the world. Slowly my wanderlust fire gets bigger and bigger, so I decided to quit my job, sell my car, leave my beloved village, and travel around the globe to get in touch with all these unknown countries, cultures, and people!
After some months in Asia, I would say this was the riskiest and also the best decision I have ever made in my life!

I am currently traveling in Asia as a solo traveler right now, but I love to connect with other people or backpackers to explore the unknown together. In the past, I focused on staying in hostels to get myself used to the new traveling lifestyle. Now, I would like to extend the experience with couchsurfing to stay at local houses, communicate with them/ their surroundings, and exchange our cultural way of living with each other.

I would describe myself as a happy, positive, and open-minded person. I started to get more and more into the spiritual topics involved, like yoga, healing stones, and astrology.

My passion —> food! I've been a foodie since I was born (my parents always told me that). Unfortunately, I nearly eat / like everything, so I have to try as much as possible the different food offers in each country! For me personally, the cultural experience is only fulfilled after I try a huge amount of local dishes!

Besides my food passion, I also like to cook, take walks, spend time with my cats (at home), do sports (volleyball, snowboarding, diving), and experience new things.

During the trip I turned 30, so I would say in my midlife we have a huge spectrum to do. I’m a city boy who loves to stay in villages and see the most beautiful nature in the surroundings. I like parties (especially techno as a German), but I also love to sit in the backyard to have a quiet look into the sky full of stars. I enjoy myself under water while diving in the same way as hiking in the mountains. I also find myself lathing while watching a sunset or the sound of the waves when they roll onto the beach.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Unfortunately in some countries it is very difficult to get in touch with local people. Which is really sad because in my point of view the cultural exchange between locals and travellers is one of the most important points while backpacking. I really would love to get more information about your way of living, your family, your free time activities, your location and your food!

Teach, Learn, Share

To be fair, let’s wait until we meet, feel the vibe and have a look how things are working out!

In my point of view everybody could learn something from the other person! Sometimes it is just a small thing like a quick exchange of some letters in the others person language. On the other hand it could also be some live changing experience which will influence our lives dramatically in a way we would have never expected.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Me as a absolute foodie could show you some traditional German dishes or I can answer you all your questions about the German way of living. Furthermore there will be some nice card games which we could play together- for sure, I also will explain them!
