Hi,

My name is Manu and I'm french. I always wanted to discover new countries. It started with France and then through Africa and Europe. Actually, I live in Paris, France.

I lived one year in Hanoi in 2015 to complete my Master degree, it was fabulous !

In France I used to work every weekend in a market to sell seafood, I must be honest and say I'm not the best oyster opener.... In the summer I work as a cashier in a supermarket to fund my travels. That's how I've come to Vietnam this year.

Vietnam really opened my eyes to the world. I've traveled with some friends and sometimes alone, to Laos. As a French, I am passionate about food and I try to enjoy the best possible flavors: discover a culture, is also discover its food.

J'ai toujours eu envie de découvrir de nouvelles régions. Cela a commencé par la France, puis par l'Afrique et l'Europe. Je vis aujourd'hui à Paris.

J'ai passé un an à Hanoi au Vietnam, en 2015, pour terminer mon Master, tout simplement génial !

En France j'ai l'habitude de travailler tous les weekends dans un marché pour vendre des fruits de mer, je dois être honnête et dire que je ne suis pas le meilleur ouvreur d'huîtres. En été je bosse comme caissier dans un supermarché pour financer mes voyages. C'est comme ça que j'ai pu venir au Vietnam cette année.

Le Vietnam m'a beaucoup ouvert les yeux sur le monde. J'ai voyagé avec quelques amis et parfois tout seul jusqu'au Laos. En tant que français, je suis passionné par la nourriture et j'essaie de goûter le plus de saveurs possible : découvrir une culture, c'est aussi découvrir sa nourriture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in Paris and rents are extremely expensive, so unfortunately I did not have enough room to accommodate the travelers home.

In my opinion, it's much more interesting to travel, sleeping in someone's house who lives in the country rather than going to the hotel. Whether in a local person home or expatriate, couchsurfing is an immersion in local life

Je vis à Paris et les loyers sont extrêmement chers, malheureusement je ne dispose pas d'assez de place pour accueillir de couchsurfer dans mon studio.

Selon moi, il est beaucoup plus intéressant de voyager en dormant chez un habitant plutôt que d'aller à l'hôtel. Que ce soit chez un local ou un expatrié, le couchsurfing permet de s'immerger dans la vie locale.

Interests

My family has a house in Brittany, the west of France, and since I am young I really like sailing. I also enjoy playing music with my friends, I personally play guitar since I am 10.
I like history, that is why I am very interested by travelling, knowing others cultures and meeting some more people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After my year in Vietnam, I came back to Europe by train, using the famous transsiberian rail, through China, Mongolia and Russia !!
