About Me

Feel free to text me on IG if I'm not responding here or if it's time-sensitive (the push notifications often don't work) : manu.pirker.eu

Austrian student from Salzburg, living and studying in Graz (but on exchange in Sweden until February 25 and therefore not hosting in that period).

I have a huge passion for the environment and sustainability, and I'm a lot into politics. Furthermore, I'm a very sociable and outgoing person, like cooking, dancing, and deep conversations :)

I love to travel by train and I usually travel alone as I made the best experiences when doing that. I can be excited about almost anything and I will most likely ask you a lot of questions! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that this is a great opportunity to learn to know new people, make and share new experiences and become friends with like-minded people that you'd otherwise never meet <3

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the opportunity to go on a youth exchange to Paris for a week with 100 people from all over Europe!

I did a European Voluntary Service in Spain, working with people with Autism, learning Spanish, and making friends from all over the world. The insight that people can always get along if they just want to, that borders are only in our minds, and that it always comes back when you do good to this world, really changed my life.

I asked a stranger on the streets in Miami if he wants to explore the city together and we ended the night chilling the whirlpool in the 7th floor of an expensive hotel that we did not pay for (see us on the picture with the grafitti!)

I went to Lapland and swam in the arctic ocean! (there's also a picture)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my language skills in German, English, and Spanish but also my wide knowledge about maany topics related to the Environment/Climage change.

More in general, my experience from living in foreign countries is that "Culture" consists of so many layers than, and that you can only discover them one by one, experiencing a never-ending learning experience, not only while living in a foreign country, but also when talking to foreigners.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Cooking (Austrian) food
- Sports and/or nutrition advice
- Assisting with languages
- Sharing my wide knowledge about the environment/climate change
