Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Manuel Saad.
I was born in Monterotondo (near Rome) and i live in Mentana (always near Rome. The province is a constant).
I am a student at "La Sapienza" University of Rome and I am at the last year of Biology.
After graduation I would like to take specialization in Genetics and Medical Research.
Science has been a constant passion since I was a child as well as music.
I've been playing guitar for about ten years and I've been experimenting with various genres: rock, blues, jazz, pop and related sub-genres.
I'm a hungry listener of music and I'm always looking for something new.
To support my university studies, I work in a well known Italian ice cream shop that is also found abroad (Grom).
I love traveling and knowing new cultures.
I'm a guy ready to get involved with new situations and get to know more and more myself.
I have traveled to Iceland alone and since I have returned the desire to leave is getting stronger.
I've known many people that I will never forget them and hope to know others. I think traveling a lot lets you see the world from another point of view.
I am a great fan of cinema and I deepen it in every part (direction, photography, script).
I love reading and writing.
Another important thing for me: the foreign cuisine. I would love to try every kind of kitchen.
I tried the Arabic, German and Icelandic.
I can not wait to test and prepare my trekking backpack for new stimuli.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think meeting new people in other countries can be a wonderful thing.
I love to test myself and I believe Couchsurfing can make the trip even more beautiful and adventurous

Music, Movies, and Books
I would not be able to choose a favorite book, movie and band, since everyone, being different from the other, has given me (and I still have) different feelings and emotions.
I really loved both Jon Krakauer's book and the movie "Into the Wild" because it made me understand how a person can change and what happens when he realizes he is in the wrong place.
Abandon everything and everyone to afford to be who you really are. An adventurous and dramatic scenario that can show what a human can do.
I read some of Chuck Palahniuk's books. His style is really pretty.
I also liked Haruki Murakami's works. Very addictive. It makes you think a lot.
I have read scientific essays and over Darwin I was very impressed by Konrad Lorenz's "On Aggression".
As mentioned before, I love blues, rock, jazz, indie, pop and electronic music.
I like the world of underground music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love the adventure and for this reason I decided to leave alone and miss out on Icelandic landscapes.
Most likely I will do it again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I recently discovered the beauty of traveling alone.
Traveling alone you find yourself in a storm of strong emotions.
When you travel alone you can really understand who you are and what your limits are (and not those who tell you to have).
You see things differently and it's great to share them with those you meet on your way
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a nice and extrovert guy.
My own experiences, thoughts and ideas.
I like so much talking to people and i want to learn everything!
Countries I’ve Visited
Egypt, Germany, Iceland
