Hello there :)
I'm Manuel, a French IT graduate from Paris. Since I finished my studies, I have been moving around for now 19 months, spending in total 7.5 months out of my place in 11 countries, for a total of 64,000 km. I am currently looking for a job, even though my trips are taking a lot of time and energy ^^

I am a big fan of japanese culture, video games and board games, I always want to discover new interests, activities and to meet people. I also love walking/hiking, and any kind of outdoor activities! I also found a passion for travelling ;)

PS: I live with my parents in Paris, there is no problem with hosting friends but invite someone I haven't met yet. If you want to visit Paris, let's befriend in a first place :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When choosing my destination, I usually first look at near cities and countries where I can find a board game event, a tournament or a convention. If I don't have any friend there, I open Couchsurfing to make new ones :D
I was able to meet many really nice people thanks to this site and I am eager to meet new ones!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

45 000km (Earth's circumference) done in 2022 by either train, car-sharing, hitchhiking or bus.
Going to Przemysl (Polish-Ukranian border) on a whim to do some humanitarian volunteering for refugees during 3 weeks.
Being in charge of multiple traditional japanese board games booths in anime conventions along with my association.
I was a referee at the World Riichi Championship in Vienna!

Teach, Learn, Share

I always have abstract games in my bag, I can teach you chess, go, shogi, mahjong... (+ some Magic the Gathering)
I love problem-solving and trying to find answers to meaningless problems :)
We can also practice French language together, or I can give a try at your language ^^
Call me if you need help with your AI homework, how to differentiate muffins and Chihuahuas or detecting tumors from brain images XD
I am "a bit" geeky so I am always glad to share some memes or a game controller.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to laugh so much that the first thing I will want to do is coming again in the exact same city the next time I'll be travelling (and it happened).
