ABOUT ME
I think I'm open-minded, outgoing, most importantly curious. I like to discover new things, whether it be people, languages, music,...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sharing a drink, showing around my city, hoping to surf in the following years!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've just surfed twice in Hamburg, Germany and Lausanne, Switzerland but I'm ready to host and to surf some more!
Interests
My biggest interest would be music: I like everything that is good, from old French variété to Mexican boleros, jazz (manouche), rocknroll, blues, etc.. I also love to go to the cinema whenever I get the chance. Languages and travelling are very important too: I want to learn so many languages (German, Portuguese, Italian, etc...), I hope I will get this done so I can converse with people from all over the place, here or abroad! New interest: I discovered hiking this summer, I hiked for 250km in the Vosges mountains with a dutch friend and I'm looking forward to doing some more!

Music, Movies, and Books
It's so difficult to define what my favorite movie is, Ive seen a lot and I loved a lot. I like "Un singe en hiver" very much by Henri Verneuil with Jean Gabin and Jean Paul Belmondo. It tells the story of an old man from Brittany who's been married for 30 years and meets a young man bound to Spain. They drink together, sing together, they become friends and the young man reminds the old of his youth. I found this movie very poetic in the way it defines friendship in the making and I also liked the metaphor of this old man that is referred as a "monkey in winter" (that's what the title means in French), that is a man that would like to go out there but is stuck in a settled life! As for music, my references are: for French music, Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Leo Ferre, Boris Vian, Gainsbourg ... for Mexican music, Vicente Fernandez, Antonio Aguilar, Chavela Vargas. I used to listen to Jack Johnson and Manu Chao a lot back in high school. But I'm very open to all kinds of music! And books? I like to read novels when I can't travel, it takes me away: I would mention Camus, Garcia Marquez (Cien años de Soledad is a must), Vargas Llosa, Dino Buzzati, Romain Gary, Sylvain Tesson for the travelling, etc.. I also like theatre a lot, especially French classics like Molière plays (I must admit I don't really know English classics that well!!!).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been volunteering in a shelter for immigrants from Central America during my stay in Mexico. Helping them out and listening to their experiences was a life-changing experience.
Countries I’ve Lived In
