ABOUT ME

we are currently located in davis, ca!

dave and i (amanda) met in ireland in 1999 while studying abroad. now we're finally marrying (in ireland! 2011) after many years of growing, traveling, and becoming/preparing to be together permanently.
we both have college degrees and have been working more professionally, but have recently shifted gears in favor of a more practical and solution-oriented education. now we are interested in starting a sustainable, permaculture community in california or oregon. amanda is interested in natural building, and dave is interested in organic farming and keeping bees.
we both grew up listening to punk rock, and still love it, along with a myriad of other kinds of music (indie rock, folk, bluegrass, hardcore, metal).
we read voraciously, dave writes, makes delicious food and fermentations, and putzes, and amanda plays piano and the vibraphone, crafts and sews from vintage and recycled materials, and collects art.
we are complete boardgame nerds and host a game night every week at our house. we hope to do the same in bend!
dave loves good beer and sandwiches and amanda indulges in cupcakes and whiskey, and loves the word 'snack'.
we just generally love living, hiking, camping, community, gardening, being crafty, and hanging out with interesting people!

we love having international visitors and showing people around whatever town we live in at the time. we are happy to host, and happy to meet new and engaging people whilst traveling ourselves!
we also love help in our garden!
