One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I found a small octopus in tidepools near Malibu, California.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking is a skill I consider extremely valuable--food cooked with love brings love to the people who eat it, and cooking and eating bring people together in important ways. I know you could easily find this on the internet (you are clearly there already) but I want to share a recipe I really love:

Fresh Basil Pesto

-a LOT of fresh basil. like 2 cups or more.
-1/3 cup nuts--pine nuts, walnuts, other nuts
-at least 3 cloves a garlic. more is better.
-1/2 cup olive oil
-1/2 cup parmesan or similar cheese

Using a food processor, chop nuts a little bit, then add basil, chop, and add garlic. Next, add a stream of olive oil while food processor is on. Add cheese last and pulse until blended. Add salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.

This is delicious with many things--pasta, sandwiches, bread, eggs, tofu...go crazy with it.
