About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to collect rocks, photos, sounds, plants, and friends

ABOUT ME

a little bit about me. i am interested in everything from intellectual property to ligands and glutathione presently i am climbing when i can find something to climb. i am traveling a relative amount. i want to meet people from all over the world so i do not have to figure everything out on my own. i have worked on some movies producing. i am building a botanical garden and a house where the couch is. My guitar playing is experimental Yoga is challenging but getting more in depth. and my diving is slowly being perfected. i have been riding a fixed gear bicycle for about a year and have only wrecked twice. I photograph everything i see in regardes to nature and how people build living spaces.

PHILOSOPHY

i don't like this question even though i will answer it. the perfect philosophy is no philosophy. i like flying by the seat of my pants. My effort is to live in the mystery and not be judgmental. I make an effort to not be too attached to ideas and thoughts

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to host people and meet people when i travel. i just started so i guess we will see what happens. i live in Austin Texas which is going through a really creative period so i guess lots of neat people will be calling on me, i hope

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just started so we will see. i did sleep on a futon in Boulder with my friend Abbie and her friend slept on the couch and there was some other guy he was sleeping on the floor and some other guy kept coming in and eating cheese

Interests

I can't think of anything i am not interested in except plumbing, except i did just get a really neat valve that is used in hydronic heating. I study microbiology and nutrition when i get the chance. I photograph everywhere i go. I ride a fix gear bike. i am a newbie rock climber. i lead my first 5 9 in Boulder canyon. I swim nearly every day when i'm home. I practice ashtanga yoga when i am motivated and not torpid. i helped produce a feature movie and am thinking about doing a documentary on a government informant. i want to play music more i have the toys but not the skill.

Music, Movies, and Books

i pretty much watch anything but horror. John Cassavetes Akira Kurosawa Stanley kubrick are directors i much admire. The Wire and Deadwood i saw on DVD and i think these where probably the best things on TV ever. I have never owned a TV so that is not an expert point of view. Music i listen to everything from the Goldberg variations by Glen Gould to Radiohead. Austin is a great place to see music and this more true now than ever. I use to be competely into the blues and i have seen every great blues musician from Albert King to Hubert Sumlin, Stevie Ray Vaughn James Cotton Junior Wells. Books i read everything again except long fiction. i read a lot of science journals and i must say a lot of wikipedia. i use to read poetry and am now getting back into it. My favorite contemporary poet is Wislawa Szymborska, W.S. Merwin gets high praise also. This list makes me reflect on what i read is almost therapeutic I read economic and politcal theory mostly out of journals but i have read full books but i ussually disagree with what i am reading i quit. I read philosophy but am less interested in western philosophy because there are a few errors that are repeated over and over and most of western philosophy is dualistic i am right your wrong.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i on sited a 5 9 my first time lead climbing. i found out i have a 90% chance of being irish through a genealogy test. i saw a couple of meteor shower that looked like space ships entering the atmosphere. I wrecked my bike racing and i am still alive. I have seen tons of great musicians

Teach, Learn, Share

i think they are almost the same thing teaching learning and sharing. I find it exciting when someone can give me insight on something i can't see
