About Me

I like to spend my time reading, listening to music... I like to cook and bake... and I love to eat! Most of all, I love to sit around a table with family or friends, having a long conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

What I try to follow is: enjoy little pleasures, surround yourself of great people and beautiful things, always try to put yourself in other's people shoes, and get excited with everyday things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to try couchsurfing because a lot of friends had really awesome experiences and that made me really wanting to try it out.

My first couchsurfing experience was four years ago in China and it was even better than what I expected. It was also my first time in Asia and getting to know the people, culture and food in such a special and different way made me fall in love with the idea. I am very thankful for all the people I met there and for all their generosity.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, for me reading is a not only a way of escaping, but of learning. I think books have helped me a lot to understand other people and myself, and have taken me to places and times that aren't easy to reach. I like the feeling when you finish a book and you would right then read it all again from the start.

I read mostly novels, but I also make efforts to read some philosophy, art and history books. Some books and authors that I have really enjoyed are War and Peace, The French Lieutenant's Woman, La Regenta, Philip Roth (especially The Human Stain), John Irving's Gap and The Cider House Rules, The Leopard, Into the Wild, John Steinbeck, Kundera, between many others..... and of course The Lord of the Rings!

I enjoy relaxing music, mainly rock and folk, also a bit of country like Johnny Cash. From time to time I listen to all The Beatles albums again and again until I'm fed up with them... I like reggae and ska, and I'm interested in world music but I never find the time to explore enough.

About movies, I think I can enjoy almost everything, from the last X-men movie to Kim Ki-duk's "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring", especially if I'm in good company and with a popcorn bowl. I love watching documentaries, I don't mind the topic, and I have a strange soft spot for Victorian period dramas.
