ABOUT ME

Um... Tall with dark hair?

I am interested in doing anything that sounds like fun (thats not actually dangerous) if you only give me a couple of minutes to take a breath and be brave. Especially if its something I've never done before. Which includes a lot of stuff you'd be surprised about because I think I must have had a pretty sheltered life up until now!

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just signed up, so not sure what else I will be adding, but I love meeting new people and making friends and sharing experiences. If/when I settle down again my couch will also be up for grabs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couch surfed so far in Australia. From visiting with old highschool friends to people who I only knew online through gaming (primarily Everquest, but other games since).

Its been awesome every time and SO much better than staying in a backpackers hostel, both for cost and experience. I'm afraid I'm into things being clean and whilst some of them have been lovely, some others have been, well, they just weren't.

Books, dancing, computers, fire twirling, beaches, sunsets, hiking, movies, unusual pets, music, photography, mythology, staying up late having really good conversations with new and fascinating people, lots and lots of hugs!

I read a lot of fiction, but primarily science fiction and fantasy. My music tastes are eclectic - everything from pop to classical to irish punk to industrial. For movies I'll watch anything except horror or thriller.

I try to find the amazing, special, beautiful in everything.

From photographing the perfectly formed tiniest blue flower to finally reaching the top of Mount Wellington after hiking all afternoon and seeing Hobart spread out below us. Meeting my friend's baby daughter for the first time and having her tiny fingers curl around mine. Making friends with the cat that hates everyone and having it curl up in my lap purring. Building a cow fence and falling off a horse and exploring the inside of a winery and standing at the top of cliffs to feel the spray of the sea on my face. Every sunset and sunrise I see is amazing.

Most recently, getting brave enough with the fire twirling practice to actually set fire to the poi! That was pretty awesome :)

I am a sponge. I soak up everything around me and if you give me a hug, you could get all sorts of random things back, hehe. I've lived on farms and in small cities. I've worked in IT for 6 years. I've been the youngest, the eldest, the team leader, the manager. My friends currently range in age from 18 to 50+. I watch people and see how and why they interact the way they do. I love to find out how best to connect to new people.
