Mi nombre es María Alejandra. Crecí y vivo actualmente en Bogotá - Colombia. Soy psicóloga y socióloga. Además de esto, también me interesan y me apasionan las artes, en especial la música y la fotografía. Disfruto mucho conocer personas nuevas y diferentes a mí, me gusta mucho la interacción social. Creo que para lograr un mundo mejor, debemos establecer lazos con los otros y poder ser más empáticos y cooperativos. Amo viajar y conocer otros lugares del mundo, culturas y paisajes. Viajar es una de las mejores maneras para expandir la mente y empezar a entender la realidad de una manera más compleja, derribando límites que a veces se crean sin un porqué. Al fin y al cabo, las únicas cosas que quedan son las experiencias sinceras que llenan el alma de felicidad y hacen que la vida tenga sentido, mi objetivo es llenarme de ellas.

My name is María Alejandra. I grew up and I currently live in Bogota - Colombia. I am a psychologist and sociologist. In addition to this, I am also interested and passionate about the arts, especially music and photography. I really enjoy meeting new and different people, I like social interaction a lot. I believe that to achieve a better world, we must establish ties with others and be more empathetic and cooperative. I love to travel and to know other places of the world, cultures and landscapes. Traveling is one of the best ways to expand the mind and begin to understand reality in a more complex way, breaking down limits that are sometimes created without a reason. After all, the only things that remain are the sincere experiences that fill the soul with happiness and make life meaningful, my goal is to be filled with them.

Me gusta conocer el mundo en su propia lógica, no pretendo ir a un lugar y seguir las guías que salen en internet o las que suelen recomendar las agencias de viaje, prefiero conocer cada espacio en su cotidianidad y significado local, y creo que esto es posible siendo parte de Couchsurfing.

Me apasiona la música y estoy de acuerdo Friedrich Nietzsche "sin música la vida sería un error".

En Colombia existen muchos ritmos autóctonos como la salsa, el vallenato, el bullerengue, la cumbia, entre otros, y desde pequeña he tenido cercanía a estos, los cual me ha permitido expandir mi mente y valorar la riqueza cultural y musical que tenemos los países latinoamericanos. Entre ellos destaco artistas como Joe Arroyo, Totó la Momposina, Petrona Martínez, etc. Además, destaco también los elementos característicos de la música andina, grupos como Inti-Illimani de Chile.

Estoy en constante búsqueda de nuevos sonidos y elementos musicales interesantes. Suelo escuchar principalmente rock alternativo, indie rock, rock argentino, post-punk, post-rock, música instrumental y en general elementos del rock que se mezclan con otros tipos de ritmos musicales, instrumentos y elementos culturales.

Algunos de mis artistas favoritos son: Luis Alberto Spinetta, Radiohead, Nina Simone, Camila Moreno, Violeta Parra, Serú Girán, Björk.... (amo las voces femeninas y diferentes)

Valoro y disfruto mucho la música clásica. Me gusta Phillip Glass y en general el minimalismo.

I'm passionate about music and I agree with Friedrich Nietzsche "without music, life would be a mistake".

In Colombia there are many native rhythms such as salsa, vallenato, bullerengue, cumbia, among others, and since I was a child I have been close to them, which has allowed me to expand my mind and value the cultural and musical wealth that Latin American countries have. Among them I highlight artists like Joe Arroyo, Totó la Momposina, Petrona Martínez, etc. In addition, I also highlight the characteristic elements of Andean music and bands like Inti-Illimani from Chile.
