About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take the most out of life!

ABOUT ME

IMPORTANT WARNING: please, if you want to send and message and make sure that I read it, send a couch request (even if you don't want couch) instead of just a CS message. For some reason, couch requests get redirected to my email address, but direct messages don't! And thus, I don't event notice when they arrive :S

I am a Computer science + music student in Málaga, Spain.

I am currently finishing my degree, and while i'm at it i take part-time jobs on anything i can find to earn some money to live :P

I have never traveled much, since i never earned money till recently, so now that i can, i would like to make up for all my lost time =)

As for me, i consider myself friendly, open minded, and willing to learn new things and get new experiences =)

I have a boyfriend, who also is a Computer Science student, and is in a situation very similar to mine. He is also very excited with this couch surfing discovery we've made, so when i travel/meet people, you probably should consider him and i as a pack xD

PHILOSOPHY

Ever heard of the hacker philosophy?

- the world is full of fascinating problems waiting to be solved...
- but no one should be solved twice! (unless for the mere pleasure of it)
- boring repetitive tasks are Evil, machines should do 'em.
- freedom is Good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined here because i would like to travel and see the world! Since i don't have much money and i also like making friends and learning languages, this system seems a fantastic way to achieve all of that =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first and, for now, only experience with couchsurfing has been a trip to Zürich that i made because Google invited me to a conference. Google paid for my travel but not for accommodation so i thought it would be a great idea to go couchsurfing!

I ended up finding a lot of couchsurfers that actually worked in google, spent some nights with two of them at their houses, and spent some time with even more of them just talking, partying and having a lot of fun. And what can i say? It was one of the best experiences of my life. Without couchsurfing it would have still been a great travel, but couchsurfers turned it into awesome! =D

Interests

The 3 things i love the most are: free(as in freedom) software, music, and videogames.

I play several musical instruments, i love them =) My main one is piano.

I also like watching movies, reading, going out and having fun :P And travelling! of course =)

I am also very active in the internet, y have a twitter (http://twitter.com/marbu) and a blog (http://marburradas.es)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the ones that are good, thank you ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I went with the Malaga University choir to Brussels to give some concerts there, but... we were trapped there by that icelandic volcano eruption! :S There were no planes back to Málaga, and french trains were on strike (perfect timing, guys ¬¬U). And so, we rented a couple of cars and we went back to Málaga hitting the road! :P

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about free software philosophy, to code, and to play piano. And of course, spanish (my native tongue) and english (not native, but i'm fluent enough with it).

I am also learning to cook, and though i am not an expert, i could cook for you (and teach you how to cook) a few typical andalousian/spanish dishes P:

From you, i am willing to learn anything, i love to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited
