Hi! I am Marc, 21 years old Physics student from The Netherlands currently in my 3rd year of uni. I’ve got a partiality for math, physics, philosophy and sports.

I’ve studied and lived in Vancouver last year which was an incredible experience. After that, I’ve been skiing and snowboarding a lot in Canada and have been to the US, Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica exploring, as part of a backpack trip. One of the best experiences of my life.

I am vegan and love to cook something nice together. Furthermore, I am an easy and kind guy who loves to have a chat, socialize, be outgoing and party, but I can also be pretty chill and gentle and I like to be pretty clean and tidy. (I’ve got more white shoes than black ones and they’re all still white af)

My interests are pretty wide, so there’s is a big chance you’ll like something I do as well!

I still live with my family cause I just came back from abroad and before that I lived in Delft. So I can’t welcome guests at my home yet but I can show you around!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess it gives the world this old feeling from decades ago again where you need to interact with strangers again when you’re in a foreign place rather than like nowadays where technology makes living at every unknown place sometimes very very easy without the need of this contact with actual local people. And I think this very contact is the thing that is super valuable and offers a nice experience! Meet the unknown and a whole world opens up for you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am literally in love with music. Gimme a party or a night alone with some music and I’ll zone out into another universe and get ecstatic. Music taste therefore also ranges from indie, alternative, urban pop, funk, soul, R&B, Hip Hop to (deep) house, techno, trap, future bass and all in between!

I’ve seen more than 60 artists live at a concert or party (I’ve listed all of them in my computer)

I like to watch movies, but prefer the ones with like a really good story line, genre doesn’t really matter.

I like to read books that provide you more knowledge. E.g. I like to read philosophical books or self improvement books. But things like thrillers are also something I like to read now and then.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went unplanned too Ibiza with a friend for 2 days without accommodation, partied 2 nights and flew straight home without sleep (zero drugs involved)
