My girlfriend Auri and I share this profile. I own a wilderness guiding company in upstate New York, while Auri works as a seasonal employee for the National Park Service. Over the last two years we’ve been backpacking all over the United States. We both live to be outside and to constantly learn new perspectives through the people we meet during our adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and see the world through a new lens. Couchsurfing has allowed us to meet so many people we would not otherwise have encountered. We love making friends and learning more deeply about the places we visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 myAuri and I continuously hiked 2400mi from New York to Kansas on the Appalachian, Benton MacKaye, Natchez Trace, Land Between the Lakes, River to River, Katy, and Rock Island trails, using state/local trails when possible and road walked everything else.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty handy and love building or fixing things. Before I became a wilderness guide my employment history gave me an opportunity to learn a plethora of different skills. I've built houses, installed solar panels, fixed cars, designed electrical circuits, built websites, managed computer networks and installed security systems, among other things. I'd be happy to take a look at anything you need done and we always leave a place better than we found it.
