Overview
About Me
Heya! I am a student currently residing in Austria for the mean time but I'm from the Philippines. I am quiet at first but once I get to know others more, I'm very easy to talk to about different things--from serious things I'm very much interested in (say, economics, history and culture) to the silliest things (like a shallow joke... I like shallow jokes haha).
I love to travel... well, even if I've never done it independently, I do love the feeling of knowing there is so much more in the world I have yet to see and know :) New tastes, new sounds, new sights, new people... all are very exciting to me (especially new tastes, I absolutely love knowing a culture through its food hehe). A good night out, may it be a couple of beers with a small group or a visit to local hotspot, won't hurt ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I actually only found about Couchsurfing quite recently. I've heard of it before but I never thought it was an actual site like this with a diverse community!
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to be able to learn about a new culture in a totally different way. I say in a totally different way because the usual way of approaching a culture is being a tourist that just observes and visits but never interacts. I want to be able to know the 'spirit of the city', to get to know the city as how the locals see it. Of course, I want to able to see sights but I also want to "live" in the city (in the full sense of the word), an experience that I believe fellow CS hosts will be able to provide. This will also help me to finally get over my slight fear in socializing (???); yeah might be weird because I do love to meet new people haha let's just put it at that :)

Playing the violin and piano, photography (I'm only an amateur at it though), reading (sometimes), learning new things, dancing (only a bit AND if people teach me how to do it hehe), cooking

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything under the sun honestly, as long as it doesn't make me deaf lol. While I do listen to classical most of the time, my top artists are Muse, Florence + The Machine, Kimbra, Lana del Rey and Alex Clare.
Movies: Quite indifferent towards movies honestly so don't hope to pick up current movie knowledge from me HAHA top picks though are Grand Budapest Hotel, Thing Called Tadhana (a Filipino movie), Grave of the Fireflies and Kiki's Magic Delivery.
Shows: Jane the Virgin, Nodame Cantabile, How to Get Away With Murder, How I Met Your Mother
Books: I'm mostly into graphic novels (Sandman series + Archie Married Life), but I love reading books dealing with history (Pasyon & Rebolusyon, which I'd love to explain to others), economics (Freakonomics) and other fiction material.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was able to lose weight (as a goal) pretty quickly. I lost around 60 pounds in 6 months due to the combined powers of HIIT and academic stress haha. I lost a bit too much though but I'm training again so hopefully, that will offset it!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: How to play the violin, cook Filipino dishes (maybe?), teach a bit of Filipino slang and expressions
Learn: Dance, new recipes, pick up foreign phrases, new sports
Share: My culture, my life and my hospitality :)
