About Me

Hi every one. I am not skilled with computers, so I can not put pictures of me and my place.
If you need to check that I exist, get connected with French bands and groups I play with. I think of "Borée, ensemble de clarinettes" (I'm one of the bass clarinets, sometimes I've got the contrabass). Or "Boyaux rouches" (I"m the only clarinettist, no doubt you'll see me). Thes key words should be enough with google

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is necessary to me. I have noticed after a few years (well, I'm 44!) that I could not fully meet places without meeting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I wish to travel with my clarinet (I'm a better musician with a bass clarinet but it's hard to transport). I'll love any music I can play with.
I like novels and short stories, written in french or in english. I am reading an Islandic novel by Indridason. Thinking back of my favorite ones, Three references raise up to the surface : King's Semetary (I've never been that scared of my life!!!), Zola's Germinal (the history of my native place), Steinbeck's "Grapes of wrath", Hemingway's Snows of the Kilimandjaro... Oops, that's four
Movie references? Clint Eastwood fascinates me, Philippe Noiret, Coluche De Funès Bourvil and so many French actors... I like modern special effect movies with good actors... and real scenarios.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I toured around Edimburgh a few years ago with a performance about WWII which I wrote in english. We were 5 musicians.
I've made cycle trips with friends, 100km/day.
I taught geography in english in a private scool that looks like Harry Potter's castle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play music with you. Share my knowledge about my region.

I would like to play a concert with Bach's Suites for cello, played with my bass clarinet, in places where such a music is rare (Faroe islands? Greenland? Guyane Française?...). Maybe the coins I'll get fom the hat could help at refunding my return ticket!

I decided not to add it among my interests (because it would look like a boozer's best of!), but I like to share fine Belgian and Northern French rare beers.

I'm open to learn all aspects of the places I visit.
