My name is Marc-Henry Pierre, from Haiti. I am currently living in Turkey, studying a Masters in Communication Management at Anadolu University.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a new adventurer, I think Couchsurfing is a very praticable tool of hospitality. I am here to discover the world by the method of new, respectful and fruitful friendship.

Interests

As a future expert in Communication, I believe that communication and cross-cultural dialogue is the key for a better world. Thus traveling and meeting with people from different cultural background is always the best opportunity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bob Marley, Coldplay, Steevie Wonder and Kery James are among other artists/bands that I like. Thus Reggae, Alternative Rock and Kompa (The Haitian rhythm) are my favorite musical rhythms but I enjoy all kinds of music. As for books, " The Pedagogy of the oppressed " by Paolo Freire, " The society of Spectacle " by Guy Debord and " Knowledge and Human interest " by Jürgen Habermas are among other books that have kept my attention for long. As for movies, I am not a big fan but " The Great debaters " and " Love and Basketball " have however got my attention.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am currently living in Turkey and I am discovering and enjoying the amazing cultural diversity among students who come from all over the World.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach Creole and French to some Foreigners; As a community leader, I gave some training sessions on Community Empowerment Strategies to some local organizations during the last few years; As for learning, besides my academic life, I learn from everyone and from any situation. I share my skills with international organization of volunteers in order to foster peace and love in the World. Aside that, what I share the most are my laughter and my smile! Laughter as an expression of myself and, smile as the communication with others!
