I work for an international Construction and Engineering firm. I grew up in Topeka, Kansas. I went two years at the University of Kansas before leaving for the West Coast at age 20. I started working construction and attending Oregon State University in Corvallis, Or. I stayed in Oregon for 27 years. What an amazing place. I love nature and outdoor adventures. Oregon is abounding with both.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love life, culture, people, adventures and all this amazing world offers me everyday. A chance to smile and connect with people. Grow by having diverse conversations with people who are both different and similar to me. Making connections, engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing my own story and some time with great people from all over the world. I want to share my home with others and have the same experience when I travel. I am planning a year long self supported bicycle tour around the world and want to keep my costs low by Couch surfing, WWoofing, work away, you get the picture, keep it simple by exchanging with like minded souls.
Interests
Cycling - I am drawn to the pace at which you can witness the place your are in while traveling by bike. Rock Climbing - the mental and physical learning that results from rock climbing reminds me of, and is similar to the experience I get from Yoga. Frisbee Golf, Frisbee Ultimate, Back Country Camping & Hiking, Mountaineering, and making amazing home made meals. Fly Fishing in the Rivers of Oregon. Poetry - not a big focus, but I really enjoy writing my thoughts down and listening to others thoughts in the poetic form.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music
Diverse mix, Rock all years, Jazz, Reggae, music in general. The real difference is I much prefer to hear music live.

The Razors Edge
Benny and Joon
Books
The Untethered Soul - Michael Singer
Rock Warrior Way - Arno ILgner
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Worked in Northern Peru living in Cajamarca Peru which is at almost 9,000 ft and my office was at 12,000 ft. I love living at elevation, the physical shape you get into is amazing in and of itself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, help making a meal, working in a garden, construction knowledge, a great exchange of ideas, every host will be different, I prefer to leave it open ended as I could never guess what hosts might expect or prefer themselves on the particular day I would enter their home and life. What I can say for sure as I see this as super positive win win type of exchange. Endless possibilities.
