About Me

I'm an easy-going, down-to-earth kind of guy. Certified ginger, though I may not look like it at first glance. Eager to learn, open to new things and ideas. Laughing is always on my everyday to-do list. Kindness and being respectful are important to me and I will always try my best to treat you with both. Striving to live an active and healthy lifestyle, while simultaneously always wanting to go for a drink with friends and stay up late..!
I'm a freelancer in a collective. Look at the website below to see what we make.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting people and making friends is something I love to do, and it should honestly be part of every journey, so why not use Couchsurfing as a tool to do so?

Interests

I live for running, climbing, cycling, travelling, good vegan food and music.
I play the guitar and the piano, I love to sing and dance, I like swimming, daydreaming, jaywalking and taking cold showers from time to time (also might be addicted to the tingling sensation you get in your nose after eating way too much mustard).
I'm the happiest when I'm working out, making music, singing and dancing along to my favourite songs, meeting new people while travelling and when I'm surrounded by nature or friends. I really enjoy hiking, mountains, wild camping and outdoor activities. I have done some treks here and there, also hitchhiking, but my all time favourite way of getting around is by bicycle. When my knees allow it, I plan to cycle across the globe.
I do a lot of sports to stay sane. Mainly bouldering, running and calisthenics. I cycle a lot, I try to dance as much as I can and started weightlifting recently.

Music, Movies, and Books

My love for music allows me to appreciate things from all types of music, but I particularly enjoy jazz fusion, progressive metal, progressive rock, afrobeat, indie and folk. I write and record my own music, which for some reason almost always ends up being in odd-time signatures. My brain LOVES 7/4! Though I never had any lessons, I can be somewhat of a music nerd sometimes..
I read mostly non-fiction nowadays to learn more about myself and the world.
Watching movies is something I only do together with others honestly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went on a bicycle tour starting in The Netherlands, taking me through Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and all the way back home.

Teach, Learn, Share

My English is all right, and I'd be most willing to help you improve. The same goes for Dutch.
Spanish and German are the next languages I want to master, so a tutor would be very welcome!
As for music, you will never hear me say I'm any good, but I can teach you the basics in guitar playing, teach basic music theory or just share my music. Down for a jam anytime🎸!
Always looking for new experiences, so for anything I can learn from you, I'd be eternally grateful!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Other than sharing stories, drinks and laughs, I can prepare meals (vegan if you want!), do the dishes, fix your bike, fix things in your house, walk your dog or maybe even help you clean.
I can help you improve your Dutch and English.
I am travelling with my acoustic steel string right now, so I can play some live music for you.
Also, in return, whenever you are close to my home or just passing through, know you'll always have a place to stay. Not many tourists visit my town in Arnhem, so it would be great if you stopped by! So far I have only hosted friends from other countries that I already knew through Couchsurfing or travelling and some cyclists via Warmshowers.org. So no hosting references yet, unfortunately.
