About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I quit my job Feb 2012 to travel the world. Came back in 2015 and now I've settled back in the US. Currently trying to find a career that suits me!

I am currently training for a new career in canine security for the Department of Homeland Security. I’m excited to get paid for walking my dog!

I am also a Private Pilot (for fun) working on my Instrument and Commercial certifications. Some day I’ll be a flight instructor or work for a carrier.

ABOUT ME

I was born in the Philippines then moved to the US when I was almost 2. I then spent the next 27 years without leaving the US. I finally got to visit about 50+ different countries in the last 10 years!!! I love traveling and exploring.

Feb 2012, I started my 4-year adventure. When all was said and done, I learned a little bit of Spanish, German, and French while I lived/traveled to many countries. I also learned a little bit more about how the world works (by learning about international relations/politics) and made a bunch of friends along my way. I have to thank all the couchsurfers in my life for making me realize that money isn't everything and it's not too late to start over again. ;)

WORDS OF WISDOM

1) Adventure and glory are great, but in the end we should think about the DL's words of wisdom and look to become content with our lives.
2) Learn how the world works (through experiences AND FORMAL EDUCATION) and remember that everyone has been influenced in their own way, EVEN YOU!!
3) Don't look down at why people are different from you, but try to understand the historical and cultural influences that make people who they are.
4) Be aware of propaganda. It's everywhere (friends, TV, internet, political leaders, etc.) Once you are aware that it's everywhere, you will understand more about how to understand it and that even you may have been influenced.
5) Don't rage against a system unless you have a complete plan to change the system for the better. Change is good when done properly. Make sure you answer the "what ifs."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted several surfers when I lived in FLORIDA(USA), SEOUL(KOREA), NEW MEXICO(USA), and CAMBRIDGE(UK). Their stories were interesting and their attitudes were all awesome!!! I've surfed myself only a couple of times.

Interests

Adventure sports, traveling, jumping off of the bandwagon... I also enjoy historical and political discussions at the theoretical level (not the complainer level).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a lot of "interesting" things in my life. I suppose I used to be a glory seeker... I solo hiked to 6000m/20,000ft; received a military combat action medal then quit and became a peace-loving hippy; ran with the bulls in Pamplona; crossed the Drake Passage to set foot on my 7th continent; floated down the Amazon in Guiness' world's longest raft race; and launched a test rocket into Space.

Teach, Learn, Share

1) I can teach you a little bit about political theories and maybe teach you a little bit about aviation (I'm training to be a general aviation instructor pilot). 2) I'd like to learn more about your culture. 3) I can share a lot of traveling stories.
