About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in Tokyo working as an English teacher. I hope to stay here long enough to really learn about the Japanese language and culture. Then, when the time is right I will pick everything up and do it all over again in a new country and a new language.

PHILOSOPHY

Live. See. Be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have been hosted a couple times and have traveled around with some awesome CSers. I look forward to hosting people as soon as I get my own place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Everything has been great. I have met many different people who are all interested in learning about different ways of life and who also love to learn new things.

Interests

Art. Writing. Music. Those are the three big things that interest me. Art comes first and in many ways it encompasses all things. When I say art, I mainly mean drawings, paintings, and prints, but I also am interested in a more general definition of the word, as in anything that someone has put the time, effort, and passion into to make it beautiful or interesting. Whether you have mastered the techniques of a tea ceremony or spinning cushions on your fingertips as long as you are captivated by it, I am sure I will be interested.

Teach, Learn, Share

“I think that life would suddenly seem wonderful to us if we were threatened to die as you say. Just think of how many projects, travels, love affairs, studies, it–our life–hides from us, made invisible by our laziness which, certain of a future, delays them incessantly.

‘But let all this threaten to become impossible for ever, how beautiful it would become again! Ah! If only the cataclysm doesn’t happen this time, we won’t miss visiting the new galleries of the Louvre, throwing ourselves at the feet of Miss X, making a trip to India.

‘The cataclysm doesn’t happen, we don’t do any of it, because we find ourselves back in the heart of normal life, where negligence deadens desire. And yet we shouldn’t have needed the cataclysm to love life today. It would have been enough to think that we are humans, and that death may come this evening.”
