About Me

My name is Marc, a 32-year-old software programmer from Barcelona. I am an avid traveler and motorcycle enthusiast, and I try to combine both of these passions whenever possible.

Some time ago I decided to follow my dreams, so I quit my job, left my apartment and started traveling the world on my motorcycle, one country at a time.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, climbing, and exploring new places on my motorcycle.
I am always eager to learn and try new things, and I am excited about the prospect of meeting new people and discovering new cultures through Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling and experiencing new cultures has always been a huge part of my life, and I have been fortunate enough to visit many incredible places around the world.
However, what truly makes these experiences special are the people I meet along the way. That is why I joined the Couchsurfing community; to connect with like-minded individuals and create lasting memories.
If you are reading this, I hope we can connect and share some experiences and stories :)

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music it's hard to choose a genre. I love all music and I'm almost always listening to something.
I specially love classic blues music and country music. In fact, I enjoy playing the piano and a bit of guitar myself. There's something about the raw emotion and storytelling in these genres that really speaks to me.

As for books, I am a lover of well-written literature in general, but I do have a particular affinity for crime fiction and mystery novels. I can easily read up to two books each week, even more when I'm on vacation!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's tough to pick just thing I've done, but I would have to say that traveling solo to a remote village in the Mauritanian desert was definitely one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
What struck me the most was the incredible warmth and hospitality of the locals. Despite the language barrier and cultural differences, I was welcomed with open arms and treated like family. I spent several days with them, surrounded by nothing but desert, and learned quite a bit about their ancestral way of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I believe in being respectful, responsible, and considerate towards my hosts. I also believe in the power of sharing experiences and learning from one another. With that in mind, there are several things I can offer to my hosts:

Cultural exchange: I would love to share stories and insights about my culture, and learn more about the culture of my hosts, whether it's through sharing a meal, visiting local landmarks, or simply chatting over a cup of tea.

Language exchange: I speak several languages fluently, including Spanish, Catalan and English, and would be happy to help my hosts practice their language skills. At the same time, I am always looking for opportunities to improve my own language skills and learn new phrases and expressions.

Cooking: I confess I'm not a terrific cook, but I know a few recipes for spanish dishes and I'd be happy to share them if my hosts were interested. I'd be even happier to try local food and learn new recipes. It's never to late to learn!

Music: As I mentioned earlier, I am passionate about music and play the piano and guitar. I would be happy to share my music with my hosts, or even teach them a few chords if they are interested.

Overall, I believe that Couchsurfing is a two-way street, and that both hosts and guests can benefit from sharing their experiences and knowledge. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with new hosts and create lasting memories together!
