About Me

ABOUT US

We're Michel and Marc, father and son. With a shared love for adventure, we want to meet new friends and explore the world together. We have been traveling since I -Marc- was a child, what has allowed me to establish a stronger link with my dad, to awaken a spirit of adventure and curiosity in me and to really be willing to explore other cultures and ways of life.

I'm studying architecture, so I'm fond of visiting and discovering buildings and places
of architectural interest.

Marc:

"This account was mine before, but now I share it with my Dad. He's new in the Couchsurfing community, but since I had such a good experience a few years ago, I wanted to share the experience with him. We are willing to meet some locals and would be so glad if someone offered to host us. We'd like to visit the city's main landmarks and your preferred not-so-typical spots. We like chatting and spending time with our hosts, but we are also ok if you don't fancy it or are busy."

CURRENT MISSION

To escape from the ordinary, meet new people, and live experiences. To visit not only the prominent landmarks of a place but to embrace its culture and traditions through the hand of locals.

PHILOSOPHY

It's not philosophy itself but the lyrics of a song I feel identified with - it's a Spanish song, so you better use Google Translator ;).

"Dejarse llevar suena demasiado bien, jugar al azar, nunca saber donde puedes terminar o empezar."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Marc:

" I discovered a different way of traveling than I'm used to. I prefer to visit non-touristic places than crowded landmarks. Also, take part in authentic, local activities rather than tours where you are taken from one point to another and don't get to know the place you are visiting.

CS has allowed me to have incredible experiences so far. I met locals who showed me their traditions and culture (activities, food), but also non-local people with whom I had wonderful conversations while enjoying a cup of tea (or a beer :) ).

You can learn a lot from other people's lives and experiences. In my case, I gained the motivation to face life from another perspective and resume my studies. "

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

I like listening to not many known Indie Rock / Alternative groups, but I'm the kind of guy that keeps listening to the same 5 songs all the time. That's because when I feel identified with a song, I cannot stop listening to it. I like LO-FI and House music as well.

Recommended songs:

"Al Respirar ~ Vetusta Morla"
"Rome ~ Phoenix"
"Copenhague ~ Vetusta Morla"
"The New ~ Interpol"
"Alabama ~ Adèle Castillon"
"La vida mentrestant ~ Socunbohemio"
"Weird Fishes ~ Radiohead"
"Я хотел быть космонавтом ~ небо над головой"
"Something good ~ alt-J"

BOOKS

I like Science Fiction, but also philosophical books. Currently reading "Kafka on the shore" by Haruki Murakami.

SERIES / FILMS

All kinds.

You better not watch a terror film with me because I scream even when there's no reason to. Everyone in the cinema always ends up laughing at me
So, if you don't want to be ashamed of me, you know what NOT to do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking a Gap Year and traveling Europe with Interrail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know yet... if there's something you'd like to learn, I will do my best to teach you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am highly motivated and will enroll in random activities such as fishing with a fishing boat or helping on a farm.

I am very friendly and kind, so I will always be glad to go out and have a beer, a drink, or whatever.

Barhopping, partying, taking a coffee or tea, and keeping long and exciting conversations.

We could try a new sport or hobby, play an instrument, listen to music, walk (or hike), and explore.

So, to sum up, I will be helping in whatever is needed to feel the experience, but also available to have some fun around.
