About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Soaking up the island life in Guam....Deb. Marc is living in the USA

ABOUT ME

We are a Couple who lives in Virginia, but grew up in NY. We both have passion for traveling and between us we have been to over 30 different countries on 5 Continents. Marc was born abroad and we have both lived abroad. We especially like to do off-the tourist path things. We are both certified scuba divers.

PHILOSOPHY

We both enjoy traveling very much as it opens us up to new experiences that we can not obtain from reading a book, watching a movie, or learning in school. Everyone gains a perspective on life that is shaped by his or her own personal experience. Meeting people lets us learn the perspectives of others and also helps us to expand our own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have both hosted people as well as met people while on travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have both met people from couchsurfing in South America, Asia and USA. We have hosted in the USA. Deb found out about the site from a friend in Europe.

Interests

We both love to travel, wine taste, watch foreign movies. Deb loves to do yoga and hike, while Marc likes to watch hockey. We both like to bike, swim and scuba dive.

Music, Movies, and Books

Marc loves the Latin American Film Festival that happens each year in Washington DC. We also enjoy watching other foreign films as well. We recently saw a film at the Jewish American Festival in Washington D.C.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2008 Marc went to the Chu-Chi Tunnels in Vietnam. These were some of the tunnels used by the VietCong in the Vietnam/American war. The ingenuity of the Vietnamese people was very fascinating. Also the New Years Celebration at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janero in Brasil is the most amazing holiday celebration I have ever seen.
